First time in daycare ??

okay so my step son has never been to daycare, well he was in it for about 2 months right before he turned 2,, so im sure he doesn't remember that .. but lately he has been showing alot of aggresive behavior and acting out, anyways, grandmaw has been watching since he was born, so of course he is overly spoiled to her, but its gotten worst and we all thought it would be best to put him in daycare, he is 3 1/2 and will be starting school next year so we need to get him ready, anyways, yesterday was his first day, he didnt give trouble when i dropped him off, he was kinda shy but didn't cry are anything, well when i picked him up they asked if he was completly potty trained, i said yes, they said not even a hour after i dropped him off, he was just standing there and peed everywhere, his shirt,shorts and undies were wet, so they put the other outfit on him, then he did it again after nap time, they had to put him on a pull up and someone else's shorts, they said everytime they brought him he said he didn't have to go,, i know he is probably nervous and shy but please tell me it gets better, im just glad he is goin through this now instead of in school where they will have older kids who will make fun of him, at least at daycare, they are still too young to make fun, i just know how my mother n law is, she thinks he is her son since she has been babysittng so long and if she keeps hearing stories she will try and talk us into pulling him out and i don't want that, he is already behind and i think daycare will work for him, just give it time

Aww...poor guy! He sounds very scared and honestally I would probably pull him out or atleast try and do just part-time to start with. That sounds like a hard transition for him and I think he is going to digress instead of learn more like you are hoping.

but he doesnt act scared except for the potting, he is kinda shy at first but after 30 min or so he goes play with the other children, they say he plays good, and listens, but its like he is scared to tell them he has to pee,, i know its a big change for him, i mean he went from doing pretty much whateva he wants, wheneva to getting on a shedule, so i know it will take awhile, i would hate to give up though,, even if i wanted to pull him out we couldn't, his behavior has gotten so bad at grandmaws that we had to think of the safety of her other grandchildren she keeps sometimes,, i think we waited too long to put him in,, i think children should go to some sort or daycare at least when they start talking, even if it's part time, then the seperation wouldn't be as difficult

only one person wrote back so i guess no body had this problem but just wanted to let everyone know that today he did fine, he potty on the toliet, i think he was nervous the first day and was too scared to ask where the bathroom was or scared to tell them he had to go,, but im glad he is doing better, just curious of any behavior your children showed when they started daycare

yeah, i told him it was school, cuz i thought that would make him feel older, and when the baby is born he will go to the same place, he will be 12 weeks when i go back to work, so maybe if he see's baby brother goin then he will feel better, i will tell him he has to watch baby brother and make sure he doesnt get scared, maybe that will make him feel older and feel like his brother needs him,, i hope it works out too,, so far its looking better
