Sick of celebrities.....

posted 25th Jun
Ok, so divorce is always hard on everyone, especially the children effected by it. But please - I'm sick of magazines saying things like "how she deals with being a single mother..." (Kate Hudson).....

Please....she's a millionaire and her child(ren) will NEVER have to financially suffer. Why don't magazines bring up single, poor mothers who beat the odds and start their own business or do something courageous that we can actually look up to and idolize? I don't personally read these magazines because it's too superficial but you can't help but read the cover pages while waiting in line for groceries.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Golly! It's not like they don't have tons of nannies and chefs and hired help! You see single mom celebrities out at red carpet events all the time.

you are so right! Ive thought the same thing which is why I never read those things. Because their life is sooooo hard. I know sometimes it can be difficult but there are people out there in far worse conditions. But i know its not as fun to read about the actual normal people of the world when we have celebrity gossip/

Or how I like how they say they are "working single mothers". I don't have ANYONE to take care of my kids when I go clubbing till 4 in the morning, or have 3 hour work out sessions. My life is --take Cole to daycare, work all day, pick him up and then I have to go home and clean house and cook dinner. Where's my "help". I'd like them to spend ONE day in a real single mother's shoes!@

Ugh

I can't help but read those magazines when I'm getting my hair done or at a grocery store.guilty pleasure...

But I so agree. I'm sick and tired of hearing how rough the gas prices are on celebs, or how they have it so "hard."

I truly admire all single mothers out there. I have been doing this on my own since my son was born since my husband is in Iraq but I know I will have help soon. I also don't have to work in addition to being a mother. My mom raised two kids by herself too.
You women are awesome and your kids are lucky to have such dedicated mothers!!!

i completely agree! i know im not a "single mom" but kevin was out at sea for 7 months and it was just me by myself with connor, with the dr appts and all the other stuff... they should live in some of the other mom's shoes for a minute

Speaking of Kate Hudson, that doesn't make her a great mom either like they tend to put it. I think she's a serial dater and has too many men around her son!

No joke. I am not personally going to be a single mother, but my mother is. She works two and half hours away, works a 12 hour day, then comes home to take care of her two kids. She also has gone back to college to get her degree.

Not one of the celebs Ive read about have had to REALLY work for their money. Not like the rest of the single mothers out there.

God, I know! If I want to go to party or event, I better hope it's for children! There's no way (unless I win the lottery, which we all know won't happen!) I will ever be able to hire people to "raise" my children, NOT that I'd want to.

Yeah, their life sure is dififcult, faced with difficult daily decisions:

"What expensive namebrand clothes should I wear and dress my children up in?"

"Where should we go shopping today?"

"What island can I rent to vacation on?"

"Should I fly to Tahiti or Fiji?"

"I don't have a movie shoot that pays me millions of dollars today, so I think I might just sleep in because I don't even really have to work anyway."

God, I know...they have NO idea what 'real' work entails.

Don't get me wrong - I would rather raise my children than pay others to do so, and even though I'm a stay-at-home-mother, that won't be for very much longer, bieng the prices of gas and food getting more and more expensive, yet, our pay staying exactly the same. We just can't afford it anymore - not that we ever truly could but we were ok.

Those celebrities should learn what it is to truly struggle.

Yeah - gas prices for Bentlys are so expensive that they might have to downsize to year-older model. Everything, including the prices of living, are going up, yet, our paychecks aren't.

I admire single mothers, too, but not when they're millionaires and actually, truly think we feel sorry for their hard, poverty-strickened lives.
