pre-eclampsia

posted 25th Jun
so, i just got home from a two day stay at the hospital. i have pre-eclampsia. the doctor said that if i was further along, they would take the baby, but they think it would be more dangerous to take the baby early than it would be to wait two more weeks. i'm 34 weeks now. they said my pre-eclampsia isn't that bad at the moment, but if it gets any worse, i'm going to have to have a c-section. i'm on bedrest for the remainder of the pregnancy...not even supposed to be on here, actually. it's just so boring in bed...and i've been there for three days already! anyway, i was just wondering if anyone else has this and if anyone knows of anything i can do to help, so that i can keep my blood pressure down enough to last the two weeks.

I was admitted to the hospital at 31 weeks when I was pregnant with my son. I had a catheter in and had to lay on one side non-stop. My B/P was very high 240/130 at one point.I gave birth at exactly 32 weeks. Good luck

Seriously, get your butt in bed and lay on your left side if your pressure is up. You don't need to hear the horror stories about this disease if it escalates. You are putting yourself AND your baby at risk if you don't take care of yourself. Extremely high blood pressure can give you seizures and cause a STROKE!!! Get in bed!!!!!

it has stayed down since i've been in the hospital...that's why they let me come home. i wouldn't be out of bed if it was up.

Jessica, I know, but I left out details.... She wasn't taking it seriously. I wish I had been given more strick instruction from my own doctors. Sometimes the try not to be reactive and things go worse b/c they don't give enough direction.
