contraction strips

posted 25th Jun
I need help in reading a contraction strip i know when your having one it goes up in peakes but i went in today for pains she said i was contracting but they sent me home.
they were high but very jagged...but there was activity
at 1st the nurse didnt put the thing in the write place and the line was completly straight and she came back in and put it up more and then thats when we started seeing them then the nurse says after a while im contracting but looks maybe early contractions...did she mean early labor?
basically if i werent contracting there wouldnt be any "mountians" lol on the strip right?
this isnt my strip but one i found of what looks simalier to mine

i would say they were shorter in length and taller but jagged

If they sent you home you obviously weren't in active enough labor. Just get some rest and call your doctor back if the contractions start coming every 5 minutes.

when u r contracting there are mountains and the wider the mountain the longer they are. WHen they are pointy then they are shorter.

It could be false labor. I just went in last week for that. I was contracting every 4 minutes and they sent me home still contracting every 4 minutes. As long as you aren't dialating and the baby isn't engaged, they will send you home. Good luck!

WALK WALK WALK that helps so much if you want to keep everything moving along maybe you are in early labor. Sometimes you may want to take a nap and if the pain wakes you up go for a walk and start timming them you will need some extra energy anyway. Cngrats

i did the walk walk walk thing, and it sent me into false labor 3 times

the doc eventually told me that it really wasn't helping put me INTO labor, but can help while you're already in it to progress faster

personally i would say get as much rest as you can before your baby comes... because you'll need it! if you're in true labor (i FINALLY figured it out) it's not going to stop, and it's going to get more intense
