Stage One food--question!!

Hi ladies!! well, the time has come for me to introduce Autumn to stage one foods...her pedi said to start her on orange foods first, so thats what I've done. I tried carrots a few days ago, but she seems to, ahem, despise them. I gave them a few days, but she still won't take to them...so I thought I'd try some sweet potatoes today--she likes them!!  

Anyway, to the point of all this...when I feed her cereal, she will not take it "watery" like they suggest, it has to be fairly thick otherwise she won't eat it at all. And it seems like that's how shes going to be about her "real" foods too...*sigh* so my question is this: should I add a little bit of cereal to thicken up her stage ones? I mean, I know it won't hurt her, but I just want some opinions/suggestions here...I have a feeling my husband won't go for mixing cereal and food, but I want to know what you ladies think/have experienced. Does anyone here add cereal to their babies stage one foods?

I mixed cereal in with Stage 1 foods for my son, and everything was okay. Just let hubby try to feed her the runny stuff, he will quickly change his mind !

I have never bought the jarred foods, but I mix in cereal with her fruits and veggies if I make them too watery.

as for the comment about my DH, he hates feeding her cereal or stage ones in general! he doesnt like how messy she gets....lol...maybe this will change his mind and I can actually get him to feed her once or twice a day! (thats probably hoping for too much...lol)

I put cereal in Mason's stage one foods..per orders from my doctor...but only because he has a slight case of reflux and it helps. Same for cereal in his bottle.

I mix all my son's stage one foods with cereal. He loves it that. Really doesn't like the cereal without it.

well, earlier tonight i tried mixing the cereal and stage one sweet potatoes....it went GREAT!! when we were giving her the carrots she only ate like a quarter of the container at a time...this time she at the WHOLE thing!!
