Izabel's Labor story
posted 25th Jun
So I was really nervous about being induced last Thursday but it wasn't so bad. I went to the hospital at 8am and they started the pitocin at 8:10 and broke my water at 8:15. I had a lot of scar tissue around my cervix so I couldn't dialate beyone a 3. The pitocin kicked in right away and my doctor told them to turn in up every 30 minutes which was a little crazy because they got super intense quick. I got up out of bed and walked around the floor about 9:30 and was back in my room at 9:45 wanting something for pain. They asked me what my pain level was and I told them it was an 8 so they decided to check me and I was at a 4 so they called for my epi. They put my epi in right away and decided to try and go in and break up the scar tissue and as soon as they did that I jumped to a 6. Because my labor was going so quickly my epi couldn't keep up so I was able to feel all of my contractions even after they gave me an extra dose. In about 1 hour I was dialated to 9 and my nurses decided to go get something to eat quick or else they wouldn't be able to all day. All I could think was let me push but that wasn't on their agenda. When they got back they called my doctor and told her to head to the hospital and they let me start pushing. I pushed for 20min and they made me stop because I had to wait for the doctor. I have to say that was probably the hardest part to stop pushing. My doctor got there and it took about 10 minutes and my little girl was out. Izabel's cord was wrapped around her neck but everything was ok once they got it off. She weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 19 3/4" long and was born at 1:47. So yes the pit sucked butit was well worth it to get to hold my little girl. I will try to post some pictures later today!

Congrats. I know exactly what you mean about the nurses. I was at an 8 and then all of a sudden I felt my babies head. They kept telling me that it wasn't time to push yet because they just checked me. So they left and went back to the nurses station. When they walked out my husband looked and said he could see the head so my friend ran and got a nurse and she called the doctor. They told me it was ok to push a little but when they realized that if I did that the baby would be out before the doctor got there so they made me stop. I seen the doctor come in and I automatically started pushing and my babies head was out just as the doctor finished putting his gloves on lol
