end of bed rest ?

posted 24th Jun
I'm going to be 37 weeks as of this thursday and have been on bedrest for several weeks due to pre-term labor...
needless to say that I am sick of it and bored as heck !
I'm just wondering if, since I'll be considered full term at that point if there's a good chance that my doctor will let me come off of bedrest? I just feel like there is so much to do still and would really like a chance to do some things b4 my little girl comes ...
Has anyone else been through this already?

I was on bedrest until the girls came at 38w 6days! Depends on why you are on bedrest if your Dr will let you off. As in, what your medical history looks like during the pregnancy

Probably since 37-42 weeks ais considered full-term..it really depends on you I guess if you want to have your baby soon. Otherwise I am sure you can still do somethings..I am 38 weeks tomorrow and I still go up and down the stairs to do the washing and vacuum and all that stuff but as soon as I feel discmfort and pain, I stop and rest. Then up again. Makes me feel useful

Yep thats understandable..I have been working and getting things ready for baby and making sure I have everything in place and still, I feel like I am only half-done which sometimes drives my hubby nuts

my pregnancy has been pretty good w/ the exception of having GD and the pre-term labor problem....
so..I'm really hoping that they will let me come off of the bedrest...cause it's making me bonkers and I'm getting soo addicted to BG!!

I was on bed rest with all 3 of my children do to preterm labor and was always taken off bedrest at 37 weeks except this time cuz they did an emergency csection at 34 weeks, 4 days (on Friday actually) cuz James wasn't moving or getting enough oxygen...Let me know what happens.

I was put on strict bed rest at 34 weeks due to preterm labor. All my doctor wanted me to do was use the bathroom and take showers, nothing else. My poor husband had to wait on me hand and foot. At 36 weeks, he said I could up my activity level, but just not over do it. I ended up having Jake at 37 weeks.
My friend was also put on strict bed rest at 33 weeks, but she did not follow her doctors orders and had her baby at 35 weeks.

I've been trying to be very good about my bedrest even though it's super hard for me..it's just not my style..but, I do sorta hope that if they do take me off of bed rest that my baby decides to come a bit b4 her DD....
I don't want her to be unhealthy or anything ..I'm just worried about size because of my GD ...

As you know, my water broke at 20 weeks...they let me off bedrest at 36-37 weeks because it was okay for him to be born then :-) Mayeb they'll let you, too!

*Edit* Granted, it was only changed to light activity. I couldn't just jump out of bed and do anything. And ebcause of my GD they didn't want him to come ebfore 39 weeks or until I had an amnio done saying his lungs were ready. Just discuss your options. You never know what they wil lallow.

thanks mama!!
I hope they will let me off..but, w/ my GD I wonder if they will want me to go a few more weeks ...
I sure hope not though..

Well, the reason they may want you to is because GD babies tend to have slower lung development. Which was news to me because I'd had it with my daughter and I'd never heard that. It wasn't until they wanted to induce me with Drake did they mention the possibility.

see that's the other thing that sorta freaks me out is that I wonder if they keep stalling my labor or stopping it everytime I do go into labor if I will need to be induced eventually ..if that makes any sense..
The good news is that I had an US last week and she isn't getting too big in there..so , that makes me pretty happy ..
That was one of my biggest fears ..w/ GD ... the big baby!
