breastfeeding ..

ok so i caved...i was bfing til a week ago but it got to the point where she would want to eat every hour and a half for 30 or more minutes..i couldn't get anything done or have time w/ my other two and i didn't have a pump..well today i gave the breast back to her..she was so happy, she kept smiling while she was eating...i am still going to give her formula but is it weird and will my milk continue to produce if i am only nursing her like 2 times a day?...i really like the bonding with her but i just don't have time to do it all the time.

your body should get used to only nursing a couple times a day. my mom used to nurse my brother in the morning and after work, and right before bed and the rest of the day he had formula. i think it would be good for you. you seem busy, but breastfeeding is an awesome feeling. good luck, i hope it works out  

I know babies can cluster feed, or feed constantly when they are having a growing spurt, is your little one doing this? I have no idea myself, I feed Kaleb whenever he's hungry, but I dont have 2 other littles ones to take care of eaither  

yea it is..i love knowing that i am giving her what she needs..i figure those few feedings will be good for her immune system too...

As a new mommy who is b/f twins I'm not able to b/f for every feeding so I alternate breast and bottle. Sometimes I'll bottle feed more than b/f mainly because I'm still building up my milk supply. I'm sure you'll still be able to produce enough milk if you cut down on b/f. If your supply decreases significantly I would probably invest in a pump to keep your milk supply up. It's a lot harder to increase your supply once it decreases, so your best bet would be to keep a good supply by b/f as often as you can or at least pump.

yea i thought that was what it was but she did it the whole 2 wks i was bfing..even right after she was born...and she is only 3 wks now but she still eats a lot just not so often now..she eats like 4 ozs every 31/2 - 4 hours..i have tried everything else b4 giving her so much but it doesn't work and she has never spit up so i guess she is justa big eater..idk..and yea it is so hard w/ the other 2..i think they were feeling neglected cause i always had kaitlyn on my boob and couldn't do everything they wanted right away..i think if they were a little older it would be easier.

wow i couldn't imagine trying to bf two...but my milk is still in there..i still leak a LOT and it is really white and thick..i just hope it stays..lol..
