Please don't type in all caps. Everyone I have spoken to says the Medela, and yes they are a bit pricey, but most likely worth it. You could most likely find a great deal on a gently used one on craigslist or ebay, and just buy all new accessories for it. Sterilize the tubing and it it totally fine and not as expensive as a new one.

Have you looked into if your insurance will pay for one?

I use Ameda and love it.

I literally had 3 different kinds of pumps-one electric and two hand pumps and honestly I preferred to manually express(use my hand and a bowl), because it really emptied my breasts.I bet everyone would have a different favorite but it is really personal prefference.Sorry not to helpful but I have breastfed two children successfully and that is jmo.

first check with your insurance company, and if they dont cover it i would get the best one you can because if you go cheaper you are almost bound to buy another one. and any bottle that has a standard size openign will fit onto my pump, i have a medela, but i dont know about others.
AND DONT TYPE IN ALL CAPS PLEASE!

It's always a good idea to get a good pump, don't always go for a cheap one. I first went with asingle Playtex pumpand it didn't really get the job done. I ended up getting an industrialpump from WIC and it works wonders! It's super quiet compaired to the one I purchased and it's a double pump so I get the job done twice as fast. That's something you might want to consider when purchasing a pump. If WIC isn't available for you, I heard that Medela pumps are good. From my experience with pumps, all small mouth (not wide) bottles fit on most if not all pumps.
