insurance again...

so i asked on my other one i posted and no one replied so i will ask agian.....

will my husband be able to get me enrolled in deers and tricare today with out me having a military id. i do not live on base or ne where near it so im not doing it with him and its not like he could come pick me up if he needed me to be there.

I don't think so. They always ask me to see my ID on base.

I don't either. Everytime I go to the hospital on base, I have to show my ID. They ask to see it before my appointment. They also had to see it to enroll me in Deers.

oh. well idk i wont be going to any of the doctors on base or anything. i live three hours away.

you have to have someone ie your sponsor..ie your husband take you to get one. If he is deployed then that works a little different he can give them your info, you go to the closest base as a civie with your marrige certificate, SS card, and sometimes BC and then they will escort you to administration if it is the right time date blah blah... its a real pain with out your husband with you! Sometimes with strange circumstances you can be enrolled like a child... they don't have to have an ID until they are ten I think so just have him ask what you should do. It took 3 months for me to get mine because it was hard for me to go all the way to Tacoma... little did I know that I could have gone even to the guard bases and get one grrrhhhh! Yes. See, he has to enroll you in DEERS for you to get your ID card anyway. You are going to be fine. So if he has you on his orders as command sponsored and he has a copy of your marriage certificate (and they may want your birth certificate) you should be green to go.

ive heard like 100 different things from sooo many people and so has my husband. everyone tells us a different thing. one person says i wont need my id to get enrolled in deers and to have insurance. then the next person says i have to have my id card first to even use my health insurance. then the next person saysi have to have my id card to be enrolled in any thing. its a big mess. even people from his base tell us all differnt things. yea i know what your thinking then just go to the insurance office or what not. yea my husband was supposed to do that today but has yet to call me and tell me what happend since hes always busy.

That's because every base does things just a bit differently.

well they should do it all the same then maybe it wouldnt be so damn difficult. o welllll. whatever happends happends i guess. i only have two weeks to do this crap till he deploys.
