help!

my baby is constipated and the nurse told me to give him karo syrup.. its actual syrup.. has anyone heard this?? im leary of it?! syrup to help constipation...?

Yes it is actual syrup you mix it with some water

MY sister in law did that with my nephew, it worked for him. Add it to a little water is all she did.

When my daughter is constipated I stick the thermometer up her butt like I would if I was taking her temp, the stimulation usually makes her poop soon afterwards. But I did use karo syrup when nothing else worked... with my boys (haven't had to with her yet). I just mixed a little in with water, or their bottle. How old is your baby?

ok so i dont put it in his formula??

I did this with both my other kids when they got stopped up. The kids pediatrician told me to add 1 tsp right into the bottle of formula, shake well and repeat every other bottle until things got moving again...worked like a charm.

You can add it to formula but I was always told to add it to water. They like it because it is sweet you can buy it where you get pancake syrup its clear.

you have to be careful with Karo, my friend did that and screwed her daugther over. My doc never let me becuase she was too small for it and its normal for the baby to be constipated bcause of the formula. Mysister pulled up info on the computer for me and i did bicycle excercise on my daughter and massage underneath her belly button and it help a lot without risking loosining up ur kid too much that it will only do diareah

Prune juice is natural Karo syrup isnt, I would try the juice or the excercises I mentioned above

I'm pretty sure you can add it to the formula too, but she just did water and it worked.

I freak when people use karo as there first option most juices make babies go and are alot better than karo
