miscarriage question

posted 24th Jun
I had a miscarriage two weeks ago. My doctor drew my blood, and told me my levels were way too low to still be pregnant, and not be losing the baby. I was bleeding pretty heavily for about a week, and it stopped. She decided not to retest my blood,or do an ultra sound or anything like that. SHe said it was early on.

I'm not doubting her,or looking for false hope or anything, but I'm still getting sick. I'm still peeing all the time, and my back is starting to hurt worse and worse. My nippes still look really weird. I thought all of this would go away right after I stopped bleeding. How long should it take for all of the symptoms to go away?

I never really had any symptoms to begin with, with the pregnancy I miscarried. My dr ordered a u/s to make sure I didn't need a d&c b/c I was 8 wks. How far along were you?

Sometimes it can take a while. After my second miscarriage I was still throwing up like I was pregnant on my way out of the ER and the way home.

I was almost 7 weeks. She said since the bleeding stopped everything must be out.and there was no reason to come back. I'm just wondering why I'm still getting morning sickness and everything else. This is the first time I've misscarried so I'm not sure what is normal and what is not.

It is normal to still feel that way but if you think something is really going on still then go ask the doctor to recheck everything just in case but it is a normal thing to still feel pregnant after a miscarriage.

I'm not doubting that I miscarried or anything like that. I just didn't know that you would still feel pregnant for awhile after. Thank you for your help.

With my MC I was 8 weeks and never had any prego signs at all. The only reason I new I was prego was because we were trying and had taken a test to to see.

I just lost my baby on 06/10/08 and all my symptomas went away about a week before i found out i lost the baby. But i still did pee alot but not no more that went away the same day the baby came out which was a day later but some time after you have a m/c your body will not realize your not pregnant no more so you will countunie so i dont know how to spell that word lol to feel pregnant. Or maybe your hcg levels are still there i would tell you doctor to do a blood test.

hi, sorry to hear about your loss. I misscarried in the 8th week on May 22/08. I went to see my doctor about 5 days later and my hcg levels were almost down to nothing (89 only). I think the fetus died in th 6th week as I stopped having the pregnancy symptoms all of a sudden. It is possible that your HCG levels were very high and its taking them a while to go down to 5 or less. My girlfriend went through that as well. My hcg levels were low to beging with which is the reason why I lost the baby.
Keep your head up, I wish you all the best.

The same thing happened to me when I had a miscarriage. I was bleeding heavy for a week then it stopped. My doctor had me go in every week to get an ultra sound to see if the baby was growing at all. When I was supposed to be 8 weeks, my ultra sound only showed the baby being developed at 5 weeks. I had stopped bleeding by that point and was optimistic. But I ended up needing a D&C because the baby never actually came out when I was bleeding. I would definitely ask for a second opinion, because that doctor could very possibly be wrong. God bless you, and I wish you the best!

Hi!
I would try to get your HCGs checked. I misscarried at 7 1/2 weeks and had my first D&C on May 30th. I kept feeling sick and had my HCG checked 10 days after the D&C and they still were at 26000. I had to have a second D&C and they still had to remove quite a bit of pregnancy tissue. The second D&C took place on June 16th and today I had my first negativ pregnancy test. So the HCG is out of my system. After my second and successfull D&C all pregnancy symptoms stopped immediately. If you still have pregnancy tissue you should consider having a second D&C because it could cause an infection.
I wish you all the best and hope this information helped.
