Gettin up there

Alexander had his 4 month check up today and got 2 shots   But other then that he's doing great! He weighs 15 lbs 12 oz  which is in the 50% range, is 24.5 inches which is in the 25% range, and his head is 16 inches which is in the 15-20% range. My little booger is getting soo big. The pedi told me I could start him on some cereal but I think I'm going to wait a bit for that considering his excellent weight gain and his awesome sleeping habits. lol I really don't need him to sleep longer then the 11hrs he usually does at night.

Auh what a big boy! He weighs more than Ethan now! Glad things are going well. I waited until until 6 months to start solids.

So he would be 3 months adjusted age now right? wow almost 16lbs at 3 months!! we are praying that DS will be 16lbs by the time he is one year - 9 months adjusted!!! Thats great hes doing so well   and that you are getting 11 hours sleep too, lucky mummy!  

Yeah, shots suck. They did not started Drew his shots until he was term. As for solids we did not start until he was 8 1/2 months adjusted age 6 1/2 months. He is now starting to get a little table food.

Yeah I'm definitely going to wait on feeding him cereal. I'm just scared that his little tummy won't do well with it since just this past month is when he actually started puking less and I haven't had to stop and burp him during his feeds. I kinda feel that the pedi doesn't really ever take in to consideration his gastroschisis and adjusted age.

Id totally just go with your own instincts. I know some people class 36 weeks as term but even so its totally fine to wait till 6 months with a term baby to start cereals/other foods so i wouldnt hurry him at only 4 months. Hes certainly growing fine too! although thickening up his feeds can help with reflux/puking issues so its always worth trying a little if he shows signs of being ready.
