yes i did. i think in three places and got 3 stitches. it wasnt TOO bad. and they give you numbing spray and a bottle to squirt warm water down there to rinse after usin the bathroom... HEAVEN!!

my mom was talking about how badely she tore....ughh and how she had to get a lot of stitches...ouch.
in my childbirth class they were talking about the nurse giving you a pernieal massage with mineral oil.did u get that? did it actually help?

I didn't rip. I did end up with a cut on one of my lips. How that happened, I really don't know. I got the spray bottle, but no numbing spray, I'm jealous!

uhm my doctor did something. not really sure what it was but it felt like she was stretchin me down there. im guessing thats what she did? but i didnt tear til her shoulders came out but i think its because i kinda pushed a lil when she told me to stop. its hard to stop when you have the urge

I had a big baby...although I dont know of anything special I ate.. she was 8 14oz this one they are worried is too big so are inducing me early! I did tear a little had to have a few stitches...Painful.. No numbing cream or anything I did get a sitz bath though for after i went potty!

thats how I was. I was smaller than all the other mothers in my L&D classes. My doctor, nurses, family all though i was going to have a small baby. I didn't really start showing a lot until later. I gained around 35 pounds which is pretty average. He was 9 lbs 2.3 ounces.

for me they did massage the area but they had to cut me anyway. Recovering from an episiotomy was worse than labor imo. I couldn't stand it!

The way you are carrying usually has nothing to do with the size of the baby. With my last pregnancy I had a huge belly and a teeny tiny baby.
Just eat all the good stuff your doctor tells you you should eat!

I only gained 12 lbs with my first pregnancy (& I went 12 days overdue) and my daughter weighed 7 lbs 14 oz. The day before I had her-someone actually asked me if I had just had a baby. So don't worry.

Everyone thought Shannon was gonna be 9-10lbs. (even my midwife said he was gonna be pretty big) and he was average, 7lbs. 9oz. I've known lots of people that were tiny and had average or bigger babies. My mom got pretty big with both her pregnancies and my brother was just over 6½lbs, and i was just over 5lbs. (didn't even make 5½) and we were perfectly healthy.

I didn't really read the replies, but a big baby isn't always a healthy baby. And a small baby isn't always a sick baby. If you want to put 'healthy' weight and size on your baby, eat a lot of lean protien. And I mean a lot! Beef is good too, but like lean cut steaks and low fat hamburger and what not. Oh and peanut butter. But unless your doctor says there's an issue with your baby, you really shouldn't worry about it. I was very small with both my pregnancies and my babies were good sizes for their gestational age.

I notice everyone that takes thier vitamiens have big bellys : )
and it will be healthy as long as you eat healthy foods and take those vitiamnes.
