re: Single Mom, but Married

posted 24th Jun
what worked in our house was aging. Seriously! Cassie just had to get 'older'. My husband was afraid/did not know what to do when she was 'young'. When she was between newborn and 8 weeks, I was definitely a single parent.

Cassie is almost 7 months now and my husband picks her up from daycare more than me!!!!! So, hang in there. I have been there!

My neighbor's husband took 6 MONTHS! She was about to get a divorce then he stepped up hugely. She was literally a single parent for 6 months. Men are just weird like that. They're marital bliss now!

Not to be mean but there is a big differnet between not having your partner help out and or not having your partner around at all anymore.

In previous posts, I mentioned that my husband (who was around and in the house - we're married, DUH) DID NOT help me out with the baby due to intimidation/fear (real or imaginary). Since then, and as Cassie has gotten older, he has improved greatly. I dont even have to ask for his help now, he volunteers
what part didnt you understand?

I was not comparing the two. We are talking about our HUSBANDS not stepping up and helping out. The OP feels like a single mom and she's married. So did I!

How can you not compare the two??

If you're in a relationship yet your significant other does NOTHING to help you with your child that's basically being a single parent.

A single parent is one that cares for their child w/out the assistance of the significant other....

Seems to be the same as far as the care for the child, just not your own personal relationship status.
