Sorry just a little vent because I am mad as hell at the world.
I just read a story that broke my heart.
Why the hell does the world hate me/us so much?
These people can go and have 7 and 12 children andwe can't even have 1.
Here is the story:
Neglect accused denied bail
A MOTHER charged with criminal neglect after policeraids uncovered more than a dozen children suffering from malnourishment has been refused bail after a brief court appearance this afternoon.
Six children aged between two and six remained in hospital this morning after at least 16 children aged from 10 months to 16 years were taken to hospitalafter police raids on two homes in northern Adelaide overnight.
Up to 21 children are understood to have lived in one of the houses at any one time. The raids involved two families – one with seven children and the other with 12 children.
An emergency court session later today will consider taking some of the children into care.
The 28-year-old mother of six faces five charges of criminal neglect, two counts of acts to endanger life and three counts of acts likely to cause harm. It is alleged she did not provide adequate food or shelter for her children, or seek medical attention on their behalf.
She was remanded in custody until another hearing on July 2.
Warning
Earlier, it was revealed that child protection authorities knew for two years that there were concerns for the welfare of the children,
AdelaideNOW reported.
South Australia's Families and Communities Minister Jay Weatherill said some of the children were "gravely ill" but that it was up to the community to be vigilant and alert authorities when they see something wrong.
A spokesman for Mr Weatherill has saidhis department had received three child protection notifications concerning the family of 12 children since June 2006.
But Mr Weatherill said they were "at a relatively low level", including lack of school attendance, mother's health and non-payment of rent. It is not known what actions were taken on the notifications made to the department.
One neighbour at the Parafield Gardens house said he had telephoned police several times about the children's welfare because he had seen them "outside late at night playing in their nappies".
Police said one of the charged woman's children, a five-year-old boy, sparked the emergency intervention when she took him to hospital. The boy was found to be suffering hypothermia and malnutrition.
Acting on medical staff's concerns police went to the Parafield Gardens and Elizabeth Grove homes where officers found the other children. "This job was shocking for everyone involved, the situation was not a good one," Police Superintendent Ferdi Pit said.
Mr Weatherill said it was lucky that the mother sought help when she did. "We have some very gravely ill children and I am concerned that we could have had a death in this situation."
No interstate communication
The family of seven children moved to the state less than three months ago. The family had a child protection history interstate but there was no notification from interstate authorities because there had been no recent problems.
"Given the physical state they're in, I think it would be difficult to imagine them being at school and teachers not being immediately aware of their circumstances and making the relevant notifications," Mr Weatherill said.
Mr Weatherill said it was "not the responsibility solely of our child protection agencies".
"The situation does raise concerns about how alert we are about children in our community," he said. "I think we need to reflect upon the fact that these children were in such poor health but nobody chose to draw that to the attention of the relevant authorities.
"This is a case which really highlights the importance of all of us being vigilant about families we might observe to be getting themselves in trouble."
But the state Opposition has said Mr Weatherill's department should not get off so easily. "It is a direct and legal obligation of his department to act on these notifications," spokeswoman Vickie Chapman said.
"Instead of blaming neighbours and people in the community, Mr Weatherill should look at his own department where he's had warning after warning, report after report and stop trying to blame the community," she said.
