Any thoughts?

Hey! so today I went in for an ultrasound because my doctor wanted to see how big my baby is... (she is planning on inducing me) . So everything went good , and i wasnt too curious because i just had an ultrasound 2 1/2 weeks ago to check her size already and I saw everything I was curious to see. But then at the end the U/S tech was alll like " well she looks like shes 8 pnds. 7 oz. but she is only like 38 wks along not 40 wks 1 day. I KNOW thats not true!!! becaue when i went in 2 weeks ago her measurment were exactly the same and she was 38 wks. then. she only weighed 7 pnds 2 oz. then!! I really realllllllly hope this doesnt change my drs. decision to induce. I dont want my due date changed.. he was definitely wrong!


EDITED TO ADD::: Also my belly measures at 43 weeks pregnant!!! and alllll my ultrasounds have been right on until this point!!

I am not sure...due date could have been miscalculated.

was it the same ultrasound place? and when do u talk to the doctor about it?

seems fishy. like they said that to you cause she doesnt wanna induce.
i would be pissed! why would they tell you shes over 8 lbs but only 38 weeks? that seems big enough to start moving things along!

Ya i thought they dont even really count the later ultrasounds (as far as how many weeks you are measuring)

i remember at one of mine he was measuring over 2 weeks ahead but, its not like they were gonna change the date? they just said his head was big...

Well I see the dr. tomorrow at 3:45 so at least I dont have to wait all week and stress... but Im just scared cuz she said she'd see if they could try inducing tomorrow ... i dont want this to change her mind!! lol.

i want some straight up answers! im gonna make her tell me wedesday.

lol I know if you werent in a diff. state i would swear they're the same person lol. Every time I go in she gives me false hope like " next time" or "we'll try" it is soooo annoying... and she never just tells me stuff.. like for instance, my feet have been extremely swollen for the past 2 mos. and i cant even wear FLIP FLOPS anymore lol...they're that bad ! and she has never said a word when I mention it until this last visit when the nurse bitched her out about it. Then she FINALLY mentions 2 days before my due date " did you know that your feet are swollen due to eating SALT?" Why the hell couldnt she have mention ed that little bit of info. before? lol. I don't think I would want her for an OB again.

I have no knowledgable clue as to why the tech would say your baby was 2 weeks "behind" but could it be that something is developmentaly delayed to that state? I mean I know that's probably comparing Apples and Oranges, but could it be that the "@ weeks" is because your baby has decided to take it's own sweet time with one, little, realatively , Minor, fairly inconsequential thing(I mean if you're 38 weeks it has to be) that usually happens after/around that time frame. Please don't be alarmed by that but I couldn't think of any other way of wording it, and if the Tech is saying you're at 38 weeks, remember that "Full Term" nowadays is 37 weeks, so whatever it is it should be totally un-important But maybe it'll still guarantee that induction!!  

i swear doctors are just dumb.. atleast you guys are getting ultrasounds later and others getting pelvics.. my doctors office is apparently sooo busy they screw everything up i have had issues throughout with them but the real crap started at29 weeks i went in and complained of back pain and dark urine he had me go for a urinalysis and told me i was sposed to be seen every 2 weeks at that point so at 31 weeks i went in and he was so busy i saw a new nurse practitioner he has and in that two weeks i got no answer on my urinalysis and i had called a bunch trying to find results.. by the time i saw the NP at 31 weeks i was really sick and it turns out that i had a severe kidney infection and oops they had lost my lab work thats why no call.. then they put me back on monthly visits i was like wtf?! i complained to no avail so i waited til week 35 got in for my appt and got a pelvic and tested for group b strep i was told i was 1cm dialated and 50% effaced and altho i am now going weekly i have not been examined since week 35 to see if i have dialated anymore.. when i told them and showed them how swollen my feet are (i can't even wiggle my toes and the tops of my feet are numb) they said it was normal and there was nothing they could do.. and when i told em i had a glob of thick mucus discharge but it was clear and white not bloody or brown the NP just said "yeh thats probably your mucus plug but not sure" ok umm well why don't you check and confirm that! gggrrrrrr they have not mentioned anything about estimated weight or length when i have asked about the fundus measurement i seem to be right on time but thursday is my 38 week check up and so help me god if i have to strip infront of my doc and force him to see if i have progressed i will! LOL

i know that rant got wwaayyy off of the topic of your doctor bein whacky about induction and the U/S you had but i felt it was related to what pains in the asses doctors can be!

Yeah thats sounds a lot like my situation...oh and btw I also lost a huge clearish whitish mucus thing last night.... well it was 2 separate times last night... it was HUGE so i wondering if it couldve been my mucus plug? he just said maybe? weird! Oh and BTW i have the same foot issue! my feet are so swollen i cant even wear flip flops anymore or wiggle my toes and theyre extreemely itchy all the time. i have been complaining about it to my dr for weeks and now finally she mentions that the swelling in the feet is caused by eating a lot of sodium or salt. its in soda. i didnt know if you already knew that or not.

A few weeks ago i went to the hosp and the gave me an u.s and said i measured 39 weeks and 6 days I was sooo excited but wen i got to the doctor they said they cant change ur due date at this point because measurments this late in pregnancy arent as accurate as the 18th -20th week measurments. i was devestated but now i only have 8 more days i hope this helps!!!
