Breach baby

my son is feet down right now and im 37 weeks and he is around 7 pounds.. my midwife thinks he may be too big to turn on his own. so tomorrow they are going to try to manualy turn him and im told that this is going to be painful.. if they dont get him to turn then im going to have to have a c section... this happen to any of you? also how likely is it they he will still turn on his own if you know any way.... im scared i dont want a c section i know that the procedure itself wont hurt but its the recovery thats going to hurt... i dont want to be in pain... but obviously i will do what ever it takes to get my son out safely... doesnt mean im going to be happy about it....

I think you have time, my daughter was breech at 37 weeks and turned by the next week. I ended up with a c section anyways for other reasons, and its not so bad. good luck

My friends baby was breech until 38 weeks and turned on his own. My baby was breech for a long time also and I did some research on the external version (manually turning him) and found that it can be very stressful on your baby and sometimes they just go back to the same breech position. It can also bevery painful for you. I decided that even if my son didn't turn on his own that I would not have it done and go for the c-sec, the risks were just too high.
