Today's Dr. appt

I had my 39 week dr. appt today. I asked the dr. about stripping my membranes and she said she didn't really believe in that.   But she did say that if the baby does not come by June 30 she would induce me which did make me feel better. The dr. told me that I looked like I wanted to cry and I told her that it was because I was so tired and anxious. She said I was a loose 1cm and 50% effaced and she said I was making progress, I told her that this was the same thing that she told me last Monday, she didn't even remember LOL! But anyways I am excited to know that at least by this time next week I will be checking into the hospital if he doesn't come on his own. So now I'm just waiting for her to call back to confirm my hospital check in time.

Girl I'm right there with you. I'll be having my 39 weeks checkup on Thursday and my doctor offered to induce me if I wanted to...I REALLY WANT TO but my family is like no way the baby will come when he's ready, that's not natural and it'll hurt like crap, yada yada yada...They have no freakin clue how I feel right now! I'm exhausted, uncomfortable, I can hardly sleep and I feel like crap! I want my baby out! So I'm still debating if I will ask my doctor to induce me or not, IF I haven't already gone into labor...

your doctor will induce before 40 weeks? bummer, my doctor said they won't induce unless the baby is 11 pounds

I was induced at 39 weeks with my 3rd baby. I liked the fact that I was able to know when I was going to the hospital since I could arrange care for the other two that way and I didnt have to worry about wether or not somebody was going to make it to the hopsital before the baby was born. My second was born 30 minutes after we got to the hospital so we had nobody there to take her out of the room while i was pushing. ONe of the nurses ended up taking her to watch a movie at teh nurses station. But I am not sure I will do it again if I have another baby. Just depends on the situation I guess.

my doctor will induce up too two weeks before your due date. im thinking about going to 38 weeks... since ill 37 weeks the week of my baby shower. if Ari doesnt come early.

Yeah my doctor is pretty cool like that. He was actually ready to induce me at my 38 week checkup but I said I wanted to hold on since my parents are going to come visit from Canada this Tuesday. They really want to be here for the birth so that was pretty much why I said I wanted to wait another week. I just hope I go natural before I hit 39 weeks...but it doesn't feel like it, we've tried EVERYTHING!

My doc is confusing the crap out of us...one minute he says "she will be home by the 4th" and then the next minute he is telling us to "just wait it out." He suggested taking Evening Primrose, which I started Saturday, hoping that I make some progress before my appointment tomorrow...I WILL have him make a decision tomorrow, are we waiting or not???

It was longer than either of my other labors. I was in labor and pushing for a total of 9 hours with that one. With my first I was in labor for 6 hours pushed for 5 minutes, number two was about the same 6 hours and maybe pushed for a little longer cant remember cause it was so quick after I got to the hospital. The contractions become strong really quick. I was already having contractions when I got to the hospital but within about 2 hours of being hooked up I was ready for some pain relief, my first I was almost done before I wanted anything for pain, my second I had no time for pain relief lol. But if I have another one I might do it the same way, depends on how I am feeling. I also had strep b infection as I did wtih my second baby, didnt get the antibiotics with number two so they wanted to make sure I got them with this one. Either way it was a good experience I am glad I did it that way instead of having to rush to the hospital. If your parents are going to be in town it might be a good idea to do it that way.

My dr. confuses me sometimes too. When I was 34 weeks she told me she would induce me at 38 weeks, then she told me that she would do it one week past my due date but today I went in there and told her I was ready.

Sweety, I feel for ya. I'm so there with you. I've got my appt. tomorrow and I'm hoping I'm finally open enough for him to strip my membranes. I don't know why I feel the way I do, but I got teary eyed last time when he said I had made no progress at 38 weeks. I know I've made it this far and I only have like 9 days left, but emotionally I can't control the fact that I just want my baby out and I want her out now!

LOL that's funny I just sent you a message. I'm going to try to wait one more week for this boy. I know that being induced hurts but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I feel like a baby myself, all I do is eat, sleep, poop (lol), pee, and cry like every two hours and then at night I'm just laying there staring at the ceiling or tossing and turning. I get up and go to the grocery store and then I'm too tired to do anything else. The hubby is making me go to the gym to walk on the treadmill, I don't want to go!!!! My stomach is cramping!

I know what you mean... like I seriously am feeling the EXACT same way as you. I want to get my butt up and do stuff (to get my mind off of it) but then I'm too tired or hurting too much. Her head right now I swear is so low, I feel like my tailbone is going to break when I walk. Its driving me crazy. I made it a couple of days last week, spirits up and all. But now I'm back to being bored, tired, sick, in pain... and all I can think about is "when is she going to get here". This is no fun anymore  

Alright so today I bounced for over half an hour on my exercise ball, I went to the mall and walked for like 2 and a half hours and I've been cleaning the house too...I am SO exhausted it's not even funny and I feel like the baby has dropped even more...Something HAS GOT TO HAPPEN!

Mr Dr. did call back, I thought she would get too busy and forget. I will check into the hospital on Monday at 9:00am. I am so excited! He may come before then and if so I will be happy too! I'm just glad she took me seriously because at first she was talking about going to at least 41 weeks but I had to turn on the tears yesterday and really my eyes were watering because I was on laying on my back but hey it worked.
