As soon as you arent numb and can start to get out of bed usually they take it out. from my experiences working on the ob floor.Just depends on the hospital

Thank god I've only been awake for them taking it out which isn't nearly as bad as putting it in. I've only had them for surgerys and they put them in after they knock you out.
