HELLO
MY NAME IS VICTORIA I'M 29 WEEKS PREGNANT AND DUE SEPTEMBER 8TH 2008 .
I LIVE IN MICHIGAN WITH MY HUSBAND I MOVED UP HERE AWAY FROM MY FAMILY AND CLOSER TO MY HUSBANDS FAMILY .BECAUES HE LOVE'S IT HERE SO I TOOK A CHANGE.ANYWAYS
A LITTLE STORY

MY SISTER INLAW , WAS GOING TO THROW ME A BABY SHOWER , IN AUGUST FROM WHAT I HEARD AND ASK ME IF I WANTED TO HELP SO I CAN PICK OUT THE STUFF I WANTED WITCH I THOUGHT THAT WAS SWEET OF HER .
SO WE MADE A PLAN TO MET AND GO OVER THINGS , WITCH WAS ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO WHEN I CALLED THE GRANDMA IN LAW TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON . SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE HADOTHER THINGS TO DO, THEN THROW A BABY SHOWER . I WAS REALLY PISSES OFF

I FEEL SAD BECAUES I HAVE NO FAMILY OVER HERE TO THROW ME A BABY SHOWER , THIS IS THE FIRST GRANDBABY IN THE FAMILY ON BOTH SIDES I WAS THINKING ABOUT THROWING MY OWN BABY SHOWWER BUT I FELT STUPID FOR HAVING TO THROW MY OWN BABY SHOWER , IS THERE ANYONE THAT HAS ADIVCE FOR ME AND WHAT I SHOULD DO . (Take off the caps lock please) and you can totally throw your own baby shower. Had no one in my fam stepped up, i was going to. It's not gaudy or tacky like some think. Just go for it. I got lucky and both sides of my fam are throwing me one, but i totally would have on my own too. Maybe you can try to make a trip home to see your fam? And see if they would like to do one up for you since you're from there and most likely have friends there as well? And maybe she was just having a bad day, don't let it get you down girl. I would call the one who had originally metioned it to me and see what she says.

i wish i had advice for you hun but i'm in the same situation i have had people tell me that they would throw me a shower but i havent heard anything about it sense and i dont want to ask someone to throw it and i dont want to throw my own either. sorry i have no advice but i thought you might feel better if you knew you werent the only one going through that.

You should totally throw your own if no one else steps up to the plate. you will be happy you did. the gifts help alot and youll just be pissed if you never have one.
there was so much drama involved with my baby shower,like important people not showing up, shit talking my registry....but i didnt notice any of it during.

just do it.

i personally dont see what the big deal is about making your own baby shower but, it is commonly thought to be tacky! asking people to make a party for you is NOT tacky but doing it yourself is/?/?/? idk, thats just what i have read! there has got to be someone willing to step up to the plate on this! good luck w it! oh... and yes....watch how u type....(forum filled with moody pregnant ladies that are easily annoyed with stuff like that!) dont want toget your head bitten off!!! lol

Ya I didn't want to force anyone to throw me one and I really didn't want to throw myself one either. I haven't heard anything about it in 2 months, but its life I guess. Oh well I hope she doesn't think I’ll just jump right in and throw her one someday.

yeah i'm at the point where i'm prob. going to throw my own or at least start planning my own and if someone steps up and says they will plan it then i will let them do it but other wise i would rather be safe than sorry

Ya reading all the post and others, I see there are a lot of women who throw there own baby showers, its starting to not sound stupid LOL!! And like you said if they want to help they can. I may just do that. Thanks

I think your right I would be pissed if I didn't have one, or didn't throw myself one. WhatCouldit hurt if I just did it myself. nothing .

i had to plan and do ALL the games at my own baby shower. i gotta admit that i was a bit annoyed my closest friends didnt really get off thier arses and do it when they said they did, but every one who came said they enjoyed themselves, so go for it!

I'm throwing my own shower. It's going to be Alice in Wonderland themed lol
