Her belly button looks like it is going to POP!!

So Gabby was born at 28 weeks and, well she is 3 months adjusted age she is 2 weeks. I just have a question. My baby girls belly button looks like it is going to pop! I am worried about it. It just sticks out really bad. When she cries I get really scared because its just looks really bad! I am going to call her pediatrician tomorrow to make an appointment. Has anyone gone through the same. I don't have a picture for you to see. But also if you push her belly button down it looks like a normal belly button. Does anyone have suggestions or has gone through this before?

It sounds like an umbilical hernia....did they say anything about it while she was in NICU?

Well they didn't say anything about it. It just surprises me a lot. I guess they didn't think nothing about it.

That's what my lil ones (5 weeks now.... born at 39 weeks) looks like. I was all worried about it but they said it's pretty normal and doesn't bother her, but that if it gets hard or bigger to bring her in to get it checked out. it really doesn't seem to bother her... but when she cries or pushes (like if she's pooping) it pops out even further.

Well yeah but he didn't say anything about it. I just wonder if her doctor is a piece of shit doctor!

It isn't dangerous or anything, but your doc or some one should have at least mentioned it to you. It's caused by weak stomach muscles. I was a nanny for a boy who had it. It will go away when her abdominal wall builds up, probably around her first birthday.

Well my husband has a weird belly button. His is like an outie inie you know. I just am mad cause her doctor didn't say anything about it.
