Ella is here, but not at home yet...UPDATE page 2

Ella Lynne was born on June 17 at 8:13 am by c-section. She was 6 lbs 11 oz and 19 inchest long. She was doing really well, but breathing kind of fast. They watched her for 24 hours and just like that her lung collapsed. Then she had to be transferred to a NICU at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh. She has had a few ups and downs. They are slowly weaning her off of her IV and NG tube. She had a few bradycardias last night, which is unusual for a full term baby. So they are starting to think that she may have reflux. My son who was born at 31 weeks had reflux, so it doesn't suprise me. I am very sad that she isn't here, although I know that she is in the best place for now. My 4 year old is being totally unbearable, I guess he is jealous. Here are some pictures of her. Please pray that she gets better and comes home soon.

Oh my gosh, I can't imagine finally getting a term baby and then still ending up in the NICU! I'm SO sorry =( What a horrible thing to deal with. Your baby girl is beautiful and I hope she improves and can come home soon!

UPDATE.....

So I went to see Ella today and found out that they revaccinated her with the hepatitis B vaccine, after she already had it at St. Clair Hospital. That upset me. They have decided that she may have reflux, but won't medicate her unless I straight breastfeed her. So they are thickening her feeds for now. I don't want to stress her out by trying to make her breastfeed when she has had pumped milk all this time. I don't know. I am not that encouraged today by the NICU staff. The neonatologist talked to me and basically talked in circles and made no sense. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Thank you all for your prayers and support!

UUUGGG dont you hate it when drs do that. I think you should decide breast milk or formula. I know im sure you would prolly breast feed at all times but i think that might be some of the problem. I mean i dont know for sure cause i dont know your baby or anything. And i do give kudos for pumping i think i just did it like a couple of days when my son was in the nicu and i was not getting much and well i was just to tired having to pump and vist him and drive an hour each way. I dont reallly know what to tell you but i hope your baby gets to getting better soon!!
