Car seat & stroller wight limits

posted 22nd Jun
Ok, didn't know where to post this but, i was wondering what the regulations are on car seats and strollers? Like when do you switch from an infant car seat to the next one up? I know there is a general weight limit. And like the travel system thing where the car seat can pop into the stroller, but you can just use the stroller when they get to a certain weight limit, but my book doesn't tell me the weight limit anyone know?

the car seat should have it written on it, if it doesnt, its supposed to.

baby has to be in a rear facing infant seat in the back seat until they are 12 months AND 22lbs. They have to reach both milestones before you can change them to a front facing seat(still in back of car). Check the packaging of the car seat. Itt will show the weight limits for that specific seat and the strollers will also. We are getting the Graco Quattro Tour travel system...it has very high ratings and the infant seat holds up to a 30 lb baby rear facing.

just because theyre old enough to become forward facing is NOT a good reason to make them forward facing. Keep them facing the back as long as possible for the safety of your children. Lemme find the link that someone posted before...its a video and you'll definatly change your mind about switiching to front facing so quickly

What car seat do you have do you have. Most infant seats (besides 3) have a 22 lb weight limit the other 3 are 30 lbs. Also they must have atleast 1 inch of hard shell above their head. The strollers range from 40-50 lbs. Once they hit the limits on the infant seat they mustmove to a new seat. By law the child must be 20 lbs and 1 year old to forward face but it is best to stay rear facing as long as they can. If you want links for extended rear facing I can give them to you also if you need recs on car seats or just want info on car seats pm me.
