Quoting Scott's mommy: it's high calorie with iron..we just supplement after a feeding he gets the breastmilk first and if it seems like he's still hungry we give him the formula
Quoting Jessica [Slvrmoon]: Oh gotcha. Are you seeing improvements?well it seems like the iron in the formula is giving him some constipation, but then again he'll have one or two really runny almost explosive stools a day..that really reek...and he usually doesn't smell..but i think he's gained alittle bit..i know his appetite has gotten bigger..

Quoting Jessica [Slvrmoon]: Yeah, unfortunately most preemies need an iron supplement anyways, so if the constipation isn't stopping ... [snip!] ... him up too bad, I wouldn't worry about it. Formula BM's smell worse than BF BM's, so that's probably why it smells so bad =)yeah i'm just frustrated that i have to keep bringing him to the doctor to get wieghed..i guess i'm just tired of doctors..lol...oh well...my other problem is the fact that he likes to get his hands in the way when i feed him

Quoting Jessica [Slvrmoon]: Yes, the doctor's appointments are tiring. My son used to do that too. He'd pull his hands up to his ... [snip!] ... his face and just clench them there. It made it so difficult to feed him. I started swaddling him to eat and it helped a lot!i do that but sometimes it gets really hot here so i don't want over heat him..oh and i have a question that i just thought of today..when do babies belly buttons become "innies" or "outies"?
Quoting Scott's mommy: ok stupid question time...when are preemies not considered preemies anymore?
Quoting Scott's mommy: i do that but sometimes it gets really hot here so i don't want over heat him..oh and i have a question that i just thought of today..when do babies belly buttons become "innies" or "outies"?
Quoting Jessica [Slvrmoon]: lol, good question! I think it's mostly obvious after the umbilical cord falls off, but my son's looks ... [snip!] ... my son's looks like an outie! I'm not sure if it'll stay how it is or eventually 'sink in'. I think it's really cute though =)i have no idea it looks like my son's going to be an outie if it stays the way it is
Quoting twinmami: Your baby will always be an 'ex preemie', as they were born premature and nothing will ever change that! ... [snip!] ... age is until 2 years in most places, although i still cant get my head around thinking my son will be caught up by then!thanks..i just didn't know for sure..i didn't want to say the wrong things, you know?
