is connor spoiled?

okay so alot of you know my son has alot of medical problems.. a friend of mine told me hes spoiled because i hold him alot and when he crys im almost always picking him up. she said that hes gonna be a brat but the way i look at it is, i can't tell how he is interpreting things and even wit hhis glasses he may not see perfect, we dont know if his glasses even help him or what not.. hes 7 months now... do you think im wrong and that hes being spoiled?

haha people say the same thing about Hayden but I think it's silly. When I KNOW he's throwing a fit I refuse to go and get him but being comforted is a need just like any other and I think it's perfectly fine to hold your baby a LOT

I don't think you are wrong.  My son is 6  months and is spoiled.  I pick him up every time he cries too and I carry him around pretty much all day.  I don't think he'll be a brat.  Don't listen to your friend.  He's your baby

I don't care what people say, if my son cries I pick him up, I don't like to see him cry.

thats what i was saying. i mean its hard to tell when hes throwing a fit or if hes being fussycoz his heart or something. sometimes he just screams bloody murder for no reason so im always trying to calm him down. i just felt so bad.

lol does your friend have children of her own?

yes she has a 13 month old.

I'd rather be accused of loving my child too much as opposed to not enough... I say, Keep it up!  

I only pick my child up when i know he needs something but like just now when he was tired i had to lay him down and let him fuss some. If i didnt and i picked him up he wouldnt have gone to sleep. I was told to let them fuss for no more than 10 mins then go pick them up and consol him and do it all over agian. But really to each there own who am i to say that you cant hold your own child when you want to. I dont really think it spolies them untill you are just giving into everything they want.

thats aperfect line!!!! I can't wait to tell my husband that one.... he says im going to make our 2 year a baby by picking him up he says... he fine leave him alone.. UGH I HATE IT HES my baby boy and I JUST LOVE HIM lol

yeh plus my child has medical problems and im real nervous about letting him fuss coz of his heart. i let him fuss while im making his bottle when hes hungry and sometimes when its his nap/bed time but otehr than that not really

i know i'm a little late, but why would any friend say that? everything you read says you cant spoil a baby. especially a baby with special needs. you need to hold him as much as possible, and why would you not. since he's 7 months old, you probably know all of his cries. and technically theres no need to let him CIO unless you've tried everything and he's just a fussy babe that day. i still hold my connor everytime he cries unless he's doing his complaining cry which i can usually just get in his face and talk to him and he's fine.

i hope it wasn't an ignorant comment meant to be rude and more for loving advice.

No offense but I think a 2 year old, if that's what you meant, is a little different...
