Level 2 Baby Food?

posted 21st Jun
Dear All,

My son, Mario, was born January 31st, 2008, and is 19 weeks, 2 days old (basically just over 4 1/2 months).About two and a half weeks ago, he started on level 1 Gerber Organic baby food and loves all of it, although is allergic to Peaches. Anyway, at what age do they usually begin level 2? I know it's probably too early but level 2 has so many more choices.

Thanks!

Oh, and he has two baby teeth on the bottom middle part of his mouth - they're just stubs but they're growing in!!!

Yeah, I was thinking 6 months, too - he will be 6 months on the 31st of July but his appointment isn't until August 18th, due to family trips and the like. So I will ask then if no one on here knows the answer.

My son is now 14 months, I started him on stage two on his six month birthday. He liked it so much better than the ones, but still wasn't a huge fan. We started threes around 9 months or so, but instead of buying them I'd just put small portions of our dinners in the food chopper and he'd eat with us. He liked that so much better.

Can you believe the CUbs game yesterday! It just started on WGN a few minutes ago!!!! Let's go for the suuuweeeep this weekend and next as well at The Cell (God that ballpark sucks!...I was at the game in 2006 where Michael Barret punched AJ Piercynski and that was awesome...but at "The Cell" and I hate that ballpark).

Yeah, I was thinking 6 months, too - the selections are sooooo much better then.

as soon as he "masters" all the level one flavors then you can introduce level two combinations that he has had individually! Its just all for allergy purposes really!

Yeah, he loves carrots, sweet peas, sweet potatoes, pears, applesauce (although he makes that "sour face" all the time and it's soooo adorable!) and bananas, and we think is allergic (as is his father) to peaches. But there's also prunes - I'm not sure I want to give that to him - who eats prunes anyway? They're gross! What is your take on that? Did your baby like prunes?

Congrats!

Yeah, he has two growing it at the same time - being he always tries to eat his fingers off (HAHA!), I'm sure it will hurt the first (and second, and third and.....) time he bites into them and realizes there's something sharp there! Poor little guy!

Other than some new flavors, the only difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 foods is the size of the package. It goes up like an ounce and a half or something like that. After buying a couple of the 1's for my son, I realized that for the same price I could get the 2's and get more. So we went straight to the 2's! (the 3's, however, are different because of the thickness, texture, and flavors!)

Yeah, not only does my son drink a 6-oz bottle, but along with that eats 2 containers of stage-1 baby food - he definitely has his father's appetite.

Here's his schedule:

8-oz bottle of formula (I can't BF) first thing in the morning.

3 hrs later is a 6-oz and two containers of baby food.

3 hrs later, usually when I'm at the gym, I feed him an 8-oz bottle.

3 hrs later is the 2 containers and 6-oz again.

Then whatever he's hungry for after that - I play it by ear.....

That boy sure can eat!
