6 days on weight watchers

posted 20th Jun
Well, I was going to do the Jillian Michaels "diet", but it was too much work for an exhausted mom who doesn't like cooking much. After not having my weight change since I gave birth, I found out my company started a corporate WW program, and I signed up. Our meetings are Friday's in the office (still not working though) and I started mine Saturday. After 6 days, I lost 5.4 lbs!!! I was shocked and not even hoping to lose that much. The nice thing is (like the commercials say) "it's not a diet". I ate whatever I wanted, as long as I was in my point range. I still had my subway cookies, mcdonald's sundaes, etc. You eat what you want! Another thing, if you're nursing, you get 10 extra points/day...I thought that would slow my weight loss (because I've done WW before), but sure didn't. So for you ladies who want to lose weight, but hate diets and don't like guidelines or giving up your favorite foods, you can really have it all with WW! You just have to drink water and be able to fit in 5 fruits & veggies/day, the rest is fair game.
Edited to add: I didn't workout either. I am so lazy. I took my son on one stroller walk, for 20 mins. I thought I was going to die...so out of shape.

Thanks! It's super easy...it's almost pointless to stop too because why would you when you get to eat what you want anyways? That's my downfall. I have a sweet tooth...and if I fall off a "diet", I binge. The meetings (have only had the pre-registration and this one) are really inspiring too...so that keeps your motivation up!

Yay !! I found another Momma who endorses WW. J/k! I actually lost my post-baby weightthe same way you did. Our company had an at-workWW program & I signed up. What's cool is that they offered an incentive where if Ilost 10% of my body weight, then I would get my moneyback..& I did!   After losing the 10%, I went on & set my own personal weight goal w/ my WW counselor & I maintained that weight for 6 weeks. So now..I am officially a Lifetime Member! WW really does work !! I can't say it enough. You go girl !!

Psssh! Inever worked out either. Hehe!

That's a cool incentive! We get a gc to an outdoors shop here ($100) + an iPod & gc to iTunes for $30. So we can workout with our iPods =) My WW counselor told me istead of 10% (since I'm BFing, and we only have 10 weeks to lose that 10% to get the goodies), she wants me to lose 15lbs. That shouldn't be too hard seeming how it's going! We get to be member for 17 weeks though on the program..when you're a lifetime member, is it free from there on? Congrats on reaching your goal!! Can you imagine how much faster the weight would come off if we actually exercised? Ugh...eventually!

Oh man! Your work incentive is sooo much better than mine !! The free iPod is awesome since you can work out w/ it. I know you can reach the 15 lbs. b/c look at how much you lost in just 6 days!? That's awesome !! Our at-work program was 17 weeks also. Did you get the eTools? I got it, but barely used it   When you reach lifetime, WW is free from there on..but you have to weigh in once a month & you can't go 2 lbs. over your personal weight. If you go over the 2 lbs., you have to start paying up again

THANK YOU !! It took a while to get back to my pre-preggy weight, but WW made it easy. Exercising would have speeded up the process, but I'm too lazy for that too! Hehe.

Ours is 17 wks too, but hasn't started officially yet because she needs 20 people to make it happen. I work in a mining company, and a lot of the men aren't too interested. Otherwise, we'll have to go to the community meetings and only get 6 weeks! Out company pays 50% thoug, so still get good discounts. She said we'll get the eTools when it goes official. I can't wait for that part so it can make my grocery list! I'd like to start cooking and trying new things.
So that's how lifetime works? 2 lbs?! That's like...if dinner has gone through yet! (sorry, TMI)..they're strict =)
How much did you have to lose and how long did it take you, if you don't mind me asking??

What is it w/ MEN?! There were only 3 men who signed up at my job. I think most of them are embarassed to join b/c WW seems like a program for the ladies only, but it's so NOT !! One of the men lost 50 lbs. at my job!  More men should def. join. I think the meetings help you to stay motivated & you get lots of ideas & recipes from the other members. The eTools is great, but I didn't use it much b/c I can't cook to save my life! LoL. My hubby is the"chef" around here. Haha! I said the same thing about those 2 lbs, but I've been maintaining for the most part. You just gotta use the restroom before you weigh in

Before I started WW, I weighed 135 lbs. & I had to lose 13 lbs. to meet my 10% weight goal. I lost the 13 lbs. in about 2-1/2 months..give & take. After I lost the 13 lbs., I wanted to lose an additional 4 lbs. to get me back to my pre-preggy weight which was 118 lbs. I lost those 4 lbs. in about 2 weeks. Altogether, I have lost 19 lbs. in about 3 months & I actually weigh less than my pre-preggy weight. Now I'm downto 116 lbs.

I don't know?! But our VP/GM signed up, so maybe he'll be inspiring =)
Plus it's a man camp, so it's sort of hard for them to do it out there not knowing what the food service puts in everything...but still, there are ways!

That's inspiring! Usually those last pounds are the hardest. Congrats....you must be very happy about that. I would like to be at 125-130, but my WW leader doesn't want me to go below 140 (I don't know why, I'm 5'4" & used to be 118-120). We'll see!

That's very good that your VP/GM signed up! Hopefully, more of your male co-workers will too.

The last few pounds are hard to lose, but most of the ladies in my at-work program lost those last few pounds on the very last day of the program! It was awesome !! I think your WW leader doesn't want you to go below 140 b/c you're breastfeeding. That plays abig factor. I'm excited for you though!
