Quoting *Mrs.Hamman*:“ I took over the counter ones my whole pregnancy with my daughter. They're completely fine and have the same ingredients as the prescription ones so I don't know what your doctor's issue is.”He told me the ones I bought at Walgreens don't contain one whole miligram of folic acid but the prescription ones do.
Quoting ALLYGIRL:“ How many of you took the ones your doctor prescribed and how many of you took over the counter ones. ... [snip!] ... thinks the over the counter ones are crap. But I don't have the money to spend on an expensive prescription at the moment. When I first went to the dr they gave me a sample bottle which I haven't opened. I just went to costco and bought a gigantic bottle of Nature Made prenatals...and they have higher folic acid and higher iron than the sample ones I was given. I have taken them the whole time and my midwifes say everything is perfect.
Quoting ALLYGIRL:“ He told me the ones I bought at Walgreens don't contain one whole miligram of folic acid but the prescription ones do.”Well I take the one source prenatal and they have enough folic acid. If the ones you bought at walgreens don't though I would just buy a small over the counter bottle of folic acid and takeone of those pills with your prenatals.
Quoting ALLYGIRL:“ He told me the ones I bought at Walgreens don't contain one whole miligram of folic acid but the prescription ones do.”
Quoting MandyLoo:“ I took over the counter one's. It was actually my dr's idea. He said it'sa waste of money to get the prescribed one's because they are no different.”Ditto for me too. I take the 'One Source' ones...pink and white bottle.
