Baby not burping

So little Braeden seems to not really burp much anymore when I'm feeding him. He did in the first 5-7 days but isn't really now. Is that weird/should I be concerned? He's 10 days old today....

Do you breastfeed or formula feed?

Try patting his back a few times then rubbing it and repeat it a few times it'll help the bubbles come up or pat closer to his back like the small of his back or lay him on his tummy that helps too or sit him up right. We had problems with burping and rubbing his back and patting the small of his back worked wonders for us.

Maybe you just have to change positions....Hayden won't burp if you put her on her belly on your knees but if I put her over my shoulder or sit her up in my lap she burps for me. Sometimes you have to lean them forward to get that bubble to move up a little. If all else fails for me, I hand her to daddy and he always gets a burp out of her.

Mostly breast and I supplement formula 2x a day until we go back to the dr. next Weds. A lot of my breast milk is bottle fed though...he doesn't seem to have a problem switching back and forth.

My daughter never burped either, her pedi said that as long as she is passing gas one way, farting, then she is fine! If your really concerned maybe see the pedi.

have you tryed differnt positions? my daughter wouldnt burp over my shoulder, she is a sit up burper

I do this and will occasionally get a little burp, but usually not. I guess I'm just wondering if there's any harm in him not burping....? He seems to have nooooo problem tooting (and pooping) all the time though!! lol

When I was in the hospital the lactation told me it's normal for breastfed babies not to burp all the time, but just to try. My baby burps sometimes, but not all the time, and he usually won't unless hes on his tummy or sitting up.

As long as he doesnt seem fussy or spit up alot and have it coming out the other end lol he should be fine.

Piper isn't a preemie but, she rarely burps anymore and really hasn't bee much of a burper from almost day one. She would cry unless I burped her a certain way.
