Potty Training -Give me Strength!!!!!!!!

Today has been long already and surely to get even more tiring.I am potty training my 2 year old with the ``help`` of my 4 year old-=ugh.I was sooo excited when first thing she peed on the potty(of course after two cups of diluted juice and 1 hour of sitting on both potties) and since has peed on my rug and all over my other daughters floor.They are soooo different- but I won`t give up.Wish me luck!!!!!

awww, good luck with the potty training!!! With one of my cousins, they showed her a picture of their aunt as a toddler using the potty and ever since then she has used the potty because she wanted to be just like her aunt, lol.

i so wish you luck i have got to start potty training my daughter who's 2 but i am so dreading it. she keeps taking her nappy off and then when i pull her trousers up she says she wants a nappy on she won't even entertain her potty

emmm...I wouldn't tolerate that at all!!

Were you sitting w/ her in the bathroom when it took an hour to potty? If so it sounds like you're forcing her to do this...and imo that's why she's not doing well.

that's when you tell her that everyone stops wearing nappies. And she'll have to stop wearing them too.

Well that`s the thing, my daughter has been sitting on the potty off and on for months, but hasn`t peed, and she isn`t nearly as verbal as my oldest.I just decided I have 3 days with nothing on so we are going to do it if it kills us-and it just may.Good luck to you too.

First of all I asked for strength not criticism, and second HOW many kids have you potty trained, because this is my 3rd(2 not mine).So until you are there hunny I suggest just watching-God Bless.

i've tried telling her that and how she is a big girl now and only babies wear nappies like her sister but i don't want to force her into using the potty until she is ready i know she is getting there as she keeps taking her nappy off but at the moment she won't even sit on the potty with her nappy on

what works (for me) pretty well is knowing the child's patterns very well. Like does she need to go as soon as she wakes and right after she eats? Or does she need time to wake up and digest before she goes? Around the time her body tends to go is when I would say, "Well, let's just try and see what happens" Usually something does happen, which serves to connect the feeling of going w/ actually going so that they then go by themselves w/o prompting.

lmao i now i need to do this but i don't think she is quite ready.and it is a few years since i last did potty training and that was my son who is 11 now

wha...?? When did I criticize you? Oh let's see...I didn't!! I merely said if I were in your position I wouldn't tolerate what happened. But I never told you that you were wrong for tolerating it. Geeez.

You said it sounds like you are forcing her, and you said I wouldn`t tolerate that.Perhaps we have different personalities, when someone asks me for good luck I say good-luck, not well I wouldn`t.....But thank you and sorry if you didn`t mean to sound as judgemental as you did. 

It sounds to me like she isn't ready yet..! your excitement is motivating but if she feels she needs to go in order to make you happy and fails it will only make it take longer and may make her afraid of disappointment..! an HOUR on the potty is a REALLY long time expressly twice a day..! or are you planning to put her on a third time too!!!!

My daughter will be four in October, she learned alot about potty training from watching other kids at her school.She started pottytraining with great success at 18 months. Maybe yours will benifit from knowing that everybody uses the potty. To keep her interest up in the bathroom, I used books, everytime she got on the potty she read a book and we gave her lots of praise. I hope this helps. I am due on the 2nd of October and I hope it is as easy to potty train this one as it was with Kailie.
