1. its preGnant
2. shes already done the damage and is probably set in her ways so personally I dont think saying anything would persuade her to stop

Edited...spelled pregnant wrong in my sleepy typing.

The damage is done.
She's smoked for the past 30 weeks.
Only 10 weeks left.

What's done is done you can't do anything about it now. Just leave her alone it'll reduce your stress and hers although if she is going to continue to smoke afterwards I would be careful about letting her around your new baby. And it's pregnant...just saying...

yeah if she hasnt stoped by now she prolly wont my friends smoked through out there pregnacys and there babies were fine. Now i myself quit ASAP when i was prego. Some people just find it easier than others im not much of a smoker so it wasnt hard for me. Its not so easy for others.

when people are saying the damage is done, there is more damage that can be done... getting her to quit at any time is better than not saying anything! When she has the child and it is around smoke, it has a higher risk of having a weaker immune system, more prone to ear infections, higher risk of breathing problems. even babies touching the skin of someone who smokes is bad... (since my son had such bad breathing problems when he was born, we learned all about it in depth)

everyone can make their own decisions, but there is nothing wrong with letting her know the risk factors... maybe you can get some information from your doctor about smoking durring pregnancy, or with children, even how its bad for her. i know here in sd we have a quit line that will give you free gum or whatever it takes to help you quit. Be her support group, smoking is an addiction, so offer to let her call you to vent when she is stressed and thinks she needs one...

I wouldnt just tell her its bad and leave it with that. id make sure you offer help, and give her some ideas of plans of how to go about quitting... good luck!

Not true. Most studies done on children with complications with maternal smoking, were those mothers who smoked a lot and didnt quit in the 3rd trimester. Although its always bad to smoke, I have read and heard in many places , that its better late then never, and if you are going to smoke atleast quit by hte 3rd trimester, when the lungs are developing and the baby is gaining weight.

Please just leave her alone about it. She knows, as well as everyone else that smoking is bad... and worse when pregnant.
It's her choice, and her baby. Worry about you and your baby. Ask her not to smoke around you and your kids, or just remove yourself from the situation.

Hounding her about it won't help. You'll just be the nagging friend.
It sucks, I know, but it's her decision.
