I think if my in-laws wanted to come stay in my house and help me, and then had something bad to say about me because of it, they'd never be welcome back in my home, regardless of how good their intentions were to start out with. But, I wouldn't worry. They've obviously been there, done that, and will understand how it's just too much for you to do alone (or at all, especially since you've been on bed rest and aren't used to physical activity). It's not what they think about you that matters anyways, seeing as how they cannot divorce you.

My bad, I never answered the question... Let them help if they are willing to help. You're going to need it. If my in-laws wanted to help, I'd let them. Hehe, fat chance of that happening.

I also say LET THEM HELP! Like someone else said, its not you asking cause you are lazy, they are offering because they understand. My opinion is that in the end its the best for eveyone involved. You wont be so stressed about the house not being clean, and can rest. The baby will come home to a calm environment because there isnt the stress of taking care of a demanding baby and the mad rush to clean the house now that this helpless sweet thing is sharing your home. AND it helps your inlaws feel like they are involved in making things easier on you and doing something for their new grandchild. Which, as we all know, is what every grandparent wants. So, relax. Enjoy the rest and save as much as you can for the big day. You'll need it. Sleep and totally calm environment can sometimes seem like a very distant memory after the arrival of a little one. Best of luck to you. And lucky you for having such great inlaws!
