How often do you get professional pics taken?

And by professional I mean target, penney's walmart.. they count too! I wanted to get our daughter done every month for her first year. The plan was to ONLY buy the advertised special which is usually under 20.00. Well that has not yet happened. We've gotten her done each month and are spending WAY too much. They wont listen and only take a few shots, so we end up buying way more cause they are too cute! Just wondered if we are the only ones with "sucker!" painted on our foreheads or if anyone else has been doing this too. So far we have gone to Target twice, and Portrait Innovations once, which I loved btw!

haha i know i'm always a sucker for those other pics too.

so far this year we've gotten the done once we got updated family ones. last year at the end of the year we got them done maybe 3 time? earlier that year family pics for my sons 3rd bday and first family pics with xavier.

we dont go alot for that reason i'm always a suckerfor those other cute pics.

i've went to walmart and picture people

We didnt have newborn pics taken but for her one month we went to Portrait Innovations as well. Her next pics will be at JC Pennys for her two month. Those are going to be family portraits as well.

I got my daughters done every 2-3 months for the first year.

I had intentions of always only buying the introductory offer as well..It never happens. I've had Skylar's done 3 times since he was born. He just turned a year. They don't really change THAT much each month, so if you have a digital camera, I'd just take lots and lots of your own.

We have two kids now, and I've been trying to get them done every six months. We usually go to Sears though! Because I'm the same way, I can't walk away without ALL the pics taken!!   So now when we get them done I have a lot of pics taken at once and get a package that includes the CD, cause you get the copyright to them that way.....and can have them printed anywhere for a better price!  

for my oldest (and I'm following the trend for my youngest) I got every three months at first. (3months, 6 months, 9 months, & 1 year) Then I got 18 months and then 2years. After that I will get yearly until she starts getting school pictures. Then I will stop with the professional pictures unless I want to get them together or a family portrait. I am a huge sucker for the pictures. I can never choose between them!!

I went once, when Julien turned 2 months. I originally thought I'd go either every two months or at those "milestone" ages - 2 months, 6 months, one year, etc. But I was really disappointed with the pictures (Sears). I mean, they were nice, they were cute, but they were no miracles of photography either.

I enjoy photography and it's one of my hobbies but I thought my pictures weren't that great because I usually do landscape photography. Apparently, I can take pictures of my kid too. The only difference is that they have the background and lighting all set up. At home, I don't bother with that and just do "snapshot" type pictures but I think I'm going to and save myself some money and set up a decent background and see what I can come up with.

I go to Pennys. They have great coupon offers, like 3.99 a sheet, i get like 16 sheets of pictures for 60.00. That coupon also has a 7.99 package on it, that includes an 8x10, 2- 5x7, 4 3 1/2x5, 15 wallets and 6 billfolds. My studio is good about taking alot of different poses but not pressuring you to buy too many. I odnt take my kids too often maybe 2-3 times a year.

LOL My hubby is the same way.....I don't give him a choice, I make an appointment and say we gotta be here for pics this day. Haha

We've only gotten professional pics done once, and that was when he was almost 8 months for Christmas/family pictures. I wanted to get his one year pictures done but we didn't have the money. Hopefully we can get some more done soon.
I would have liked to get newborn pictures then once every 6 months.

We are going to do it monthly since they change so much so quickly. After that it'll probably be a every three months until she is three. I think people are going to get sick of receiving her pics in the mail lol

Every milestone age ..

Now that she is 1yr old.. We will have pictures taken in earlyNovember (family pics to be used in christmas cards) then Hailey's 18 month pictures taken in December.

After her 18 month pictures.. I will do it on special occasions.. Easter, Birthday, etc..

My sister has her daughter's done every month and on the milestone ages they purchased MORE pictures.

We have all our pictures taken at walmart.. Its the closest studio . We can't afford to drive over an hour to get pictures made. Walmart does a great job and I spend less on gas so I can spend more on pictures
