Chicago girls :)

I am visiting Chicago from Friday-Wed for a conference at McCormick Place & my mom is joining me.We arestaying at the Congress Plaza Hotel (all others were either booked or WAY out of my price range!). So...where shouldwe go? We don't have much time so I want to make sure we hit the places that are really worth going to. I pre-purchased tickets for the Sears tower but I know there are plenty of places to eat, shop, etc. Any faves you would like to recommend would be greatly appreciated! ...so much to do and so little time!

Ok so I'm visiting the Sears Tower, Navy Pier & Millenium Park for sure. I think my hotel is near the park. Now for restaurants, this is my list thus far: Signature Room @ 95th, Room 21, Spiaggia, Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder, Gene & Georgetti's Restaurant, Pizano's Pizza & Pasta..
A few other interesting things I found: Chocolate at the Pen (at the Peninsula Chicago Hotel) and Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Icecream Shop...mmmm

Chicagoans (or is it Chicagans) am I on the right track? -if you ever come to New Orleans I'll hook you up with a ton of places to visit btw-  

I am moving to Chicago an I just love Harold's an I-57 they have the best ribs an chicken in the world an I love White Castles ummm I can't wait to go to Chicago for good.

I have lived in Chicago my whole life and I am not a pizza freak at all but Ginos is great!

I'm not in Chicago anymore... still a Chicago girl at heart though  
If you want to do shopping.. it sounds like you'll be pretty close to Water Tower Place (on Michigan Ave.. the closest/easiest landmark I can give is prob. the John Hancock building-we usually park around there). A good Italian restaurant close to that is Rosebud (on Rush St/Superior.-I believe)!! There may be a wait depending on what day/when you go but it's so worth it
