sleeping with eyes open

posted 18th Jun
does anyone's kids sleep with their eyes open?? I've never seen my daughter do it before but I just found her half an hour ago with her eyes WIDE open! it scared me so bad, I couldn't tell if she was breathing and I totally panicked. she was annoyed because I woke her up though, I think that was the scariest thing I've ever seen happen with her.

It is freaky. My youngest nephew does. I did not know it until he and his brother spent the night at my house awhile ago and he was on the couch with his eyes wide open. I thought he was watching cartoon network. So I was telling him he needed to get ready for bed but he did not move. So I thought he was ignoring me and I walked over turned the tv off and told him he needed to get ready for bed. Well he still did not move. So when I touched him he jerked and woke up asking if I had said anything. Yeah, that freaked me out.

My daughter does it.

It freaked her surgeon out, especially when she goes into surgery.

Lol!

They always give her alittle something extra just to make sure she is out!

Yup my son has done this since he was born... If you place your pointer finger lightly on their eyelid, they will usually close.

I'm glad others do it too, and I'll use the pointer finger tip for next time. I actually talked to a nurse about it because my parents freaked out and wouldn't leave me alone until I did, she said it probably is just another thing to go along with her sleep talking, walking and night terrors.
