its not illegal here to provide alcohol to a pregnant woman...it should be, but all our governemtn is willing to do is put stupid warning labels on our alcohol....fucking canadian government and their labels....have you seen the smoke packs? that hasnt stopped nothing.

This morning i really wanted cream cheese , and i didnt have it until i looked online to make sure it wasnt a "soft cheese" that i cant have during pregnancy....it makes me wonder how the hell these women can just take drugs and NOT CARE what its doing to their baby....UNBELIEVABLE i dont even want to take tylenol for my arthritis or the stool softener my doctor said i could take!

If the mother has no record or history of drug use she should not be forced to be drug tested just because some moron did drugs during pregnancy. I dont think so! I would raise hell.

Throw all kids in Juvi so none of them have a chance to do anything bad, take away all cars so no one can get in a car accident?? NO! Just because I dont have anything to worry about doesnt mean I should be forced to go through some stupid drug testing like a criminal.

Every doctor I have talked to on the subject has said and MANY resources will confirm that one glass of wine a day even during pregnancy is safe.

the birth mom's are the ones who need help obviously though. so i don't see why thats a bad thing. you can't just make someone not an alcoholic by laws. you need to help the person, the addiction, the problem.

thats all they should be allowed to do. what if they made it illegal to eat deli meat & get in a car while pregnant? all those can harm a fetus as well. its just their job to inform and hope people take it into consideration.

Just something else for the Government to try and control in our lives. If it keeps going like this then everyone will one day only be able to eat and drink one thing and wear one outfit and talk with one accent. No one will have control over their own lives and no one will be able to live their lives for themselves.

It amazed me when my doctor (while i was pregnant) told me how many women that came to see her were on drugs..All kinds of mothers..Women who you would think have never touched a drug in their life...It suprised me....She said about 20% of her patients were on drug watch....Soccer moms, lawyers, doctors....

I had a friend once who I never in a million years thought had a meth problem...The signs were just not there......(or maybe I just did not see them b/c she was good at hiding it)
Her son (one day) fell out of his highchair...She called me at 2am and asked me what to do...Of course I told her to go to the hospital but she didn't b/c she was high....She went two days later and the poor guys arm was broke...Nobody really knew she had a problem.....NOBODY b/c she made it seem like all was good and that she had her shit together..WRONG....Her left half of her face is lame b/c she had a stroke due to that shit.....
If they would have drug tested her and the baby at birth all of this may have been prevented....
The poor guy has gold caps on his teeth (all of them) and he is only 6....He loved digging in his mommies purse for candy, the candy she always had in there for herself after getting high....

Hey lets do random drug testing on everyone in town because Joe down the street was arrested for them! or even better Lets stop every single person walking down the street and test for medicatiosn or alcohol because Mary was abusing them!!  No signs of anything during any prenatal visits then they should be left alone and so should their kids.

Big deal is that everyone shouldnt be treated like common criminals just because of some dipshit that screwed up. I dont need to "prove" anything to anyone and I wont.
