baby acne - YUCK

posted 18th Jun
what happened to my beautiful baby?!? he started to get a few bumps and raises and then one morning we woke up and he looked like he was a 13 year old boy in full out puberty! i talked to his doctor's office when they first came about and they said all was normal, it was baby acne...and it shouldn't last longer than 3 months! don't put anything on it, keep it clean though...has anyone had any experience with this head on? i know what my doc said and all, but i'm wondering if anyone went through this, how long did it last for you and your little one? i am breastfeeding/breastmilk bottle feeding...and i'm taking prenatals (if that makes any difference) my poor baby!!!

My daughter got that a little bit when she was a couple of months old. I used Cetaphil soap to gently wash her face with on whenever I gave her a bath. My pedi said it was ok since it's a hypoallergenic soap designed for people with super sensitive skin. It cleared up her face really quickly.

I used A&D ointment when my baby had it, which was only for maybe a month. I have actually heard that using breastmilk clears it up, but have no experience with it.

My son's nose was covered with pimples. It really bothered me, but then it just went away.

My daughter had it BAD!! I forgot just how bad it was until I was looking at some pics I had taken of her when she had it. Luckily, it didnt last the full three months like the doctor said. They said not to put anything on it and just let it run its course. I tried Aquaphor because some ladies on here told me that worked for them.. My daughters was sporadic though. It would almost clear up and then the next day it was back full force. It will go away. And everyone understands. It is very common, alot of babies go through it!

i know what you mean girl! see the comparison...
kogon at two weeks
kogon at almost a month...
six and a half weeks or so...
and almost two months...FINALLY they're going away!

it feels like its forever but it will pass. because his skin is so dry, i was putting vanicream all over his body including his face and it seemed to clear up faster with that than before. but his ped told us to put the lotion on his face not for the acne but for the dryness...whether it was a help in getting rid of the acne...we'll never know. i do know that in order to get rid of cradle cap, cooking oil is a g-dsent! good luck! i'm sure irelyn is adorable even with her pimps
