Changing Table?

posted 18th Jun
Hi ladies!

Do you think a changing table is worth getting?  Do you use yours regularly, or just change your baby wherever you are?  I'm debating the worth.  Do some of you just buy the changing pads and not the actual table?

You can buy just a changing pad for the baby's dresser. I used my changing table all the time. If you are planning on using a pack n play though, most of them come with a changing table attachment and you could just use that too.

I never bought one, but I dont really think it is worth it anyway. I just change Gabriel wherever I am, I never regretted not getting one.

This is interesting - I'll have to do more research!

I bought one, but I also got it at a garage sale so i didn't have to pay full price. Definitely worth it, imo. I love putting him up there after his bath and it's right in his room so it's convenient. I do change him on a pad in our living room on the floor sometimes too, so it doesn't get used everytime. Sometimes though I get uncomfortable bending over changing him on the floor, it's easier on the table for me. I would recommend getting one, if you can afford it.

People told me not to get one, that I wouldn't use it that much. BUT I got one anyways, lol.I figured even if I don't use it that much, the one I got looks like a dresser so, we can use it as that. Oh and, if you read the instructions on some of the changing tables, it says only good up to 20-30 lbs or something like that; just to keep in mind. I also got a pack-n-play that I plan on keeping in the living room and it has one of those removable changing areas on it as well.

i use mine everytime i change my son when were at home. its just more convenient than having to change him on the bed or couch (seeing as boys do have accidents!)

edit to add: its a lot easier on the back than changing on the bed or couch too.

I actually bought a bath and change table that you can wheel around....... I had to lift him out of the bath whilst holding him try to close the damn lid so I could place him down and then dry and dress him. it was a real bitch........ i was then doing a search and came across this..... I bought it right away......loved it makes it so much easier to change him and bath him........... I have a free standing version as well if you don't have a tub for it to go over  it sits in my laundry and makes everything accessable for me....... no having to take him to another area to do different things..... its all in the one spot now

I put everything on her dresser. It works great. Here are pictures of what I did.

I have her diapers in the diaper stacker on the wall. Her pail under it next to that is her hamper and then she has a basket that holds rash cream, wipes, lotion anything like that

Well my SIL just used those travel changing pads on the floor, couch, bed- where ever they were- to change my neice. But that turned into a big mess, because you end up with stuff EVERY WHERE. I'm using a changing table, because I like have the shelves below. I can keep all the things I need and their easily accessible. I'm sure I'll change my baby on the floor in the living room or on the bed in the middle of the night, but for the most part I like having the table.
