juice?

posted 18th Jun
how old was your baby when you first introduced juice? i've been giving it diluted to my daughter sometimes because it helps her bowels, but it seems someone is always telling me she's too young...

for constipation I think it is fine, but I wouldn't use it regularly. Juice is not necessary (except in the way you are using it)

My son is 10 months old and still hasn't had any juice.

My twins have already had juice (diluted half and half) and they are only 2 months old. Doctor said to do it for their bowels. They have only had it twice we don't do it everyday or anything.

my doctor told me to give him some at 4 months. He told me to fill the cup 1/4 the way with juice and 3/4 with water.

Agreed....Ben is almost 10 months and gets some carrot juice about twice a week but other than that, only for constipation

When Logan was a month and a half I think .. Our pedi actually told me to give him juice watered down to help him with his bowel movements, I was told to do it 2x a day and like 2 ozs at a time.. Now that he is 5 months old, we give him the gerber juice.. and that is because once again at his 4 month check up the pedi told us we could introduce solids and to give him juice in case of constipation.. so I give him and he likes it, but I dont give him a whole bottle, a sip here and there, and I dont give him juice instead of formula.. If hes hungry I give him a bottle of formula..

well that's the thing, she used to only poop once every 5 days, she'd be very constipated and in pain, so we tried juice, it works great, i've been giving her about 2 oz of juice mixed with 2 oz. of water every ither day sometimes a couple days in a row and it seems to help with the gas and everything, but is it a bad thing to give her that much?

people have differing opinions on it, but if my baby was suffering I would give the juice! Nothing like a baby in pain...

my daughter is 2 1/2 months and i don't give it instead of milk, just if i think it might help and only 2 oz of juice with 2 oz of water.

I think watered down juice is good for constipation but it's better to start juices for "snacking" after 6 months. My daughter is 14 months and I only give her apple juice occasionally as a treat. I just give her water or milk in her sippy because she actually loves water, especially when it's cold.

I give Julia a little juice for a snack or whatever in between meals, but she's also eating solids. And it seems if she doesn't get the juice she gets constipated. I don't give her much, just a few ounces a day. She's also cutting teeth, and really, I'd rather minimize her pain where I can, ya know? A constipated baby is NOT a happy one. (She's 11 mos by the way.)

then i dont see a problem with you giving it to her if its helping her have bowel movements!
