Big baby...maybe

So the doctor wanted me to have a sonogram today because he was concerned about my weight gain. (or shold I say lack there of) I am 11 pounds lighter then when I first became pregnant and I am now 33 weeks. The sonogram technician told me that the baby weighs about 5 lbs and 11 oz. When I asked if that was big she laughed and said yes. At 33 weks the baby should weigh just over 4 lbs. I won't see the doctor again until the 1st. I am already scheduled for a c-section on July 28th but something tells me that I am not going to make it. Anyone else think they are expecting to give birth to a small toddler?

just because that is what they guess, it doesnt mean they are right. They told me my daughter was going to be 8+ lbs @ birth. I went 2 weeks over & she still only weighed 7. The u/s is just an estimate~ they aren'talways accurate.

The scans can be off by 1 lb either way... you are already having a c-section so you have no worries about how big the baby is!!!! lol

I lost 11 pounds in my pregnancy too! I didn't have a small toddler though, lol. Maybe his weight gain will slow down now. And weight estimates can be up to a pound off! So be prepared!

They told us Ben would be 8 lbs at US the day they induced. He was 6lb 2 oz

My baby is measuring a week bigger so I have to be careful with what I eat in the next few weeks/days just so she does not get too big... 

Thank you for the support ladies! I know they could be off. I just had to laugh when the doctor said he was concerned about the weight of the baby I lifted me shirt (exposing my big bump) and asked if he really thought I was having a small baby. He just laughed and said, "Oh no!"

They told me my daughter was 8lbs she was almost 10 they can be wrong its just a guess.

My firt was 8 lbs 6 oz and my second (2 weeks early) was 7 lbs 9 oz. All of the babies in my family were over 9 lbs so maybe she is taking after me.

yeah! Maybe! My son was 9 lbs 7 ozs and I had him vaginally. I'm hoping the next is smaller! lol

My brother was 10lbs 15oz and she had him at home!  

When it comes to actually birthing them, I'm glad mine were small! lol

They say the more you have the bigger they get   I don't know from personal experience, but my sister's first was around 6 1/2 & her 4th was almost 10.

at 29 weeks i had a scan and they sed jasmine weighed about 3lb 7oz and 40 weeks i had a scan and they said she was 12lbs LOL she ended up been 10lbs
my belly mearsured 44cm at 40 weeks aswell so i was kinda HUGE
