re: 3d ultrasound @ 19wks?

i had one done at 23 weeks
baby dont have alot of fat but its your baby so it shouldnt be scary lol.

I think they are worth every penny. We became obsessed with getting them and had 9 of them. Now that he is here......he looks just like he did inside!

Wow I found out my babys sex at 15weeks! Then it was confirmed at 17weeks!!! But Im a highrisk and I get ultrasounds done atleast once a month!!! I havent gotten a 3D done yet I was trying to hold out but Im 24weeks so maybe I should go for it!

Aw, that is awesome. My sister found out at 14 weeks...I'm jealous!   But yeah, go for it!

I know how you feel, my doctor told me I won't find out til I'm 20 weeks.

I always send this video to those who wonder at what time frame the 4d ultra sound will look like I did mine at 21 weeks

I had a 3D gender u/s at almost 15 weeks and she looked kinda like an alien then, but it was still cute to me cuz she was moving around just like a baby. At 19 weeks your baby will look much better but skinny. If that's the only 3D u/s you're gonna get, wait until you're at least in your 3rd trimester to get better pics (especially facial). The 3D u/s I had when I was almost 27 weeks captured some decent pics of her face, but I'll be getting another one at 31 weeks for even better pics.

Does ur doctor do them for u or do you have to pay a specialist? I might do another one towards the end but they're $150 a pop so I prob. won't do anymore than that!

i had one done at 16 weeks and then went back at 19 cause she had her legs crossed. she was skinny but man it was amazing to watch her move and kick. i had annother one done at 33 weeks and the video was way more boring.... because it was mostly focused on her face.

it took my dude and i so long to get prego (9 mos is not that long but it felt like an eternity) so the video and all the pictures early were 100% priceless.. and we became friends with the owner of our ultra sound place!!

I'm high-risk so I get an u/s about once or twice a month, and my high-risk OB has the 3D machine, so I got two 3D u/s from him, but he doesn't print pictures or let us record it, so I paid to go to another place to have them done. The gender u/s was $89, and last month I bought a package of 2 sessions that was $159 combined. Since this is my first baby, I think it's worth it to pay for the keepsakes to show her how she looked like when she's older.

I agree with tyjenkins. At 15 weeks she was moving all around and her whole body was small enough to fit in one shot, but at 27 weeks she was too big to fit in one shot and the tech just focused on her face. She yawned, opened & closed her mouth a couple times, but that was about it. She was sleeping though, so that could've been part of it too, but yea, her recent u/s was wayyyyyy more boring than the one at 15 weeks.

Hey they did one for me at 14 weeks cause I wanted to know so bad, and they said i was havinga boy! Then at 19 weeks 5 days they did a baby wellness 3d ultrasound and said SURPRIZE we were wrong its a girl!!! So if you do one early just know they can be wrong cause the baby still has a tail bone until late in th 16the week my dr told me, and its nto always clear if there's a "boy indicator" I'm not unhappy but lots of people bought cloths etc already that now have to be returned.

The OP said she's thinking of doing it at 19 weeks, I think that's plenty far along to find out the gender from a 3D u/s.
