What's implantation bleeding like?

posted 18th Jun
I've read quite a lot of different descriptions of it, so I'm not sure. I never got it in my last pregnancy. Today, however, when I wiped (TMI!) there was more CM that usual and it was tinged brown. Just checked again and there's definitely a bit of pink there. It's not like bleeding. It's definitely CM, just coloured. What kind of things could it be? I'm 8DPO, 1 week before AF is due to start, so the timing would be able right. I'm just tired of getting excited over nothing  . Would implantation bleeding need to be actual bleeding?

Mine was pretty much how you described. I saw it when i wiped and it was more of a brownish red, not dark, but not bright red at all. there were a few drops on my panties too. I saw it a week before i went to the doctors(3 days after my period was supposed to start)

GOOD LUCK!

Out of all the pregnancy scares I've had before and looked online and read A LOT of information about it.. I say you have EVERY right to be excited

Unless its normal for you to be spotting between periods.. But if you haven't experienced that before I'd def. say it's I bleeding ha ha

Thanks, Holly! I really hope this is it. It's the best sign I've had for a while, anyway

If it's not from the cervix from having sex, I would be jumping for joy right now.

When I had it, it was brown and pink. You are definitely on target for it! I can't waitto see pics of yourtest!

We didn't have sex yesterday, so no
We have this afternoon  . It's more pink now. That could be from the sex, but it was very gentle and the only time that's ever happened to me before is when I was pregnant. OK, I'm getting a little excited now. Ooo, can't believe I have to wait a whole 6 days to test!

I got the same thing on CD 15 and CD 16.

I did some research and basically ovulation bleeding and implantaiton bleeding both are described like that. Since yours is 8 dpo I would say that is good sign for the implantation bleeding.

I just found this. I thought it was helpful, wanted to pass it along!!

How Long From Conception Is Implantation? To understand how long it takes from conception to implantation, it is important to understand exactly what is meant by both terms, and what happens in the whole process of conception and implantation.
Conception, in this context, is assumed to mean the fertilization of the egg by the sperm. The physical act of sexual intercourse, which is necessary for conception, can occur anywhere from a week to a couple of hours before an egg becomes fertilized. Implantation refers to the process in which the fertilized egg, also known as the blastocyst, becomes attached to the wall of the uterus and starts to produce hCG. Because hCG is the hormone that pregnancy tests look for, it is necessary for implantation to occur before a pregnancy can be recognized through a pregnancy test. Generally, if an egg is going to be fertilized and conception is going to occur, it will have to happen in a 24-hour period after ovulation. The egg won't survive in the fallopian tube much longer than this. Once the egg is fertilized, it will travel to the uterus for implantation. As it travels, it will continue to grow in size, its cells dividing and reproducing. The process of traveling and implanting will take somewhere around 7 to 10 days altogether. Implantation can sometimes cause a bit of spotting or bleeding, known as implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding is a small amount of bleeding in the uterus that occurs when the egg implants into the uterus. A specific tissue, known as trophoblast, develops from the fertilized egg and it surrounds it. It is what attaches the egg to the inside of the uterus, and actually eats its way into the uterus. The trophoblast actually pulls the egg to the inside of the endometrium. Trophoblast even invades the mother's blood vessels and diverts her blood to the fertilized egg. Sometimes, this blood will leak and this causes implantation bleeding. Thus, it is possible that it can be as many as 7 to 14 days between the time of sexual intercourse and the time that the fertilized egg implants in the uterus
