about raising your baby, like not giving them a pasifier or not letting them sleep in bed with you so much etc.? me and my friend were talking about this today...she said she wouldnt of set around and held her daughter so much when she was a baby bc she wouldnt want to go to anyone but her.

I think the only thing I would have done differently is just really, really enjy the infant stages. They go by so fast and I was so busy trying to work so much and go to school. I think I would have held my son more! This time, I plan on really enjoyong the infant stage! I go to school online now, so I can do school work while she's napping and stuff. I also wish I had taken more time off work after I had my son. I went back to work and started school 4 weeks PP. This time, I am taking 8 weeks!

Hm...
If I could turn back the clock, I would've gone to my doctor and put more effort into trying to breastfeed. Once I gave up (because nothing was coming out) that was it, I just gave up. I found out a week later I could've taken something to help stimulate milk production and that my mature milk probably hadn't come in. It never did come in though...but yeah not breastfeeding still bothers me because I wanted to do it sooooooooooooo bad

I will give my child a pacifier and i will never let my child sleep in my bed the reasons for both brcause it prevents SIDS. When they sleep with a pacifier it reduces the chances of SIDS and when they sleep in your bed the matress is softer than a crib matress and they can stop breathing. I wont hold my baby alot becase in fact they do get used to that and then want to be help more often.

Not all women just put their baby on their mattress and go to sleep.

This is how I co-slept for the first three months:

This would scare me. thats why i have a bassinet. But i guess you can do this, it helps them sleep becasue they can hear your heart beat!

I thought co-sleeping helped prevent SIDS?

From what i heard it dosent. Thats why you have to have a firm matress. Almost anything now a days can lead to SIDS it seems like.

I can't say I would have done anything different. I rea;;y wanted to BF with my 1st, but it didn't work, nothing to loose sleep over. And YEAH I held my 2nd one ALL the time, but she is such a cuddle bug now that I wouldn't change it for anything.
the only thing I can say, is with this one I know what to do different, like really try to get him to take that binkie!!!!

i would try to be more patient with my husband when he was talking to me and distracting the baby while he was breastfeeding, because I "think" maybe if I had let him, he would have gotten used to it. I would have breastfed with a cover in public, because now he wont eat under a cover or if any people are talking.

BUT I'm so glad I co sleep with my son. I'm glad I held him all the time as an newborn, because I can't ever get that time back. I love that my son spends all his time with me. I'm so glad I've never believed a baby can be spoiled... (Hugs and kisses are free, and he can have as much time being held as possible) Because now he's so indpendent.
