re: What would you have done different?

I actually don't have any regrets yet.  I wouldn't change a thing!  I snuggle her all the time.  I enjoy every minute of staying home with her.  I co-sleep if she's not sleeping well in her room, but when that's the way she wants to sleep that is where she sleeps.  We breast feed and love it!!  I wear her everywhere I go!  I am enjoying this entire time!!!

I probably would do it all just the same!

I wouldn't have pumped so much and tried to store milk in the begining. It just made BFing harder then it had to be and I ended up throwing away all that milk I was storing anyway.

When we were still in the hospital and I saw the first "Head-postureing" seizure, I wouldn't have second guessed myself and would have Bitch-slapped the nurses and Dr. into actually listening to me, and doing all the testing then, when he was onlt a couple of hours old... And not having to bring him back to the ER to have them try to tell me the same BEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPing thing!!!

Would of taken away the middle of the night bottle a bit sooner.. I kept putting off doing it and didn't take it away until 9 months.

All in all it worked out since she is now 1yr old and totally bottle broke

Otherwise there isn't much I would change.. I need to teach her to fall asleep on her own instead of me rocking her to sleep, but I want to hang onto that for a bit longer. *sometims I miss giving her a bottle while rocking her to sleep*

Haha, you say that you won't hold your baby too much now, but wait until he is out in the world with you. Putting the baby down is easier said than done! Besides, I believe you can't hold a baby 'too much'. My son was pretty much in someone's arms the first month of his life and he's perfectly content now to lay on his playmat and play or in his bouncer. Of course, he still gets plenty of cuddles from me, but he definitely lets me know when he's had enough of me.

Yikes! I'm donating all my extra, and there's a ton of it. I'm glad I pumped so much, now I have no problems having spare bottles for the daycare while I'm at work. What problems did you have?

Why are you even in this thread? It's called "What would you have done different" NOT " What do you THINK you are going to do". Come back when your baby is here.

I had problems with oversupply which for me made it hard for my daughter to nurse b/c I had anoveractive letdown. I am a SAHM so that milk was never used up. There are other things you have to watch for with pumping too much that are actually more serious-- imbalance of hind milk/fore milk. This can cause the baby to be sick. I never dealt with that because I would end up pumping if she couldn't nurse and bottle feed. Once I let all the extra milk dry up it's been wondeful and I have been able to only breastfeed. But, I got so caught up into storing the milk- and I wish I hadn't!

I agree!  I laugh when moms-to-be say what they're going to do.  Because I used to say all that and I totally ate my words!!  What you think you'll do is way different than what will work for you and I am SO glad we do things the way we do and not the way I said I was going to!  The nights we co-sleep are great and I love to snuggle her up!!  I said I'd put her down and let her fuss...that she'd be better off like that!  I now don't believe in CIO.  I  never really did for infants, but fussing I thought was good for them?? Oh what a silly girl I was!!!

It does. And they have things you can put on your mattress for the baby now as well. Like this....
