Quoting **I LoVeE My JaDeY BeAR*:“ juicy juice has barely any sugar (it has no sugar added). and i mixed it with water ... i give her 3 ... [snip!] ... it with 2 oz of juice so its basically water. and it keeps them cool. it actually isnt that harmful as people make it out to be”
But, water alone would also help cool off a baby. And I know juicy juice is probably the best choice if you decided to offer juice to a baby - but there are still natural sugars from the fruit, even if no sugar is added. What you described is 40% juice - so IMO its not "basically water." Thats still introducing abeverageenhanced with sugar to a child (unlike pure water or milk). If you think juice is okay, go for it... I am just stating my opinion based on my research: that juice actually isnt as healthy/beneficial as people make it out to be.
" *** If you decide to offer fruit juice as a "drink" try waiting until baby is at least 8 months old! Offering juice as a constipation remedy is acceptable as young as 4 months old with the consult of your pediatrician
***Giving your baby
water as a first "beverage" instead of juice will be healthier in the long run!
***Always dilute any juice that is offered to babies and toddlers. We recommend diluting
75% water to 25% juice. Keep diluting for as long as possible!
***Juice should
never ever be offered in a baby bottle! Juice in a bottle is a major cause of dental problems. Also, never allow your baby or toddler to drink from a sippy cup of juice throughout the day! "

Also, fruit juice consumption should be less than 4 ozs a day to ensure that they are drinking enough milk and not replacing milk-feedings with juice (or water).
