can you give babies CHEERIOS?

Riker currently only eats breastmilk and fresh fruits and veggies (pureed, of course) mixed with organic oatmeal.
He also has the occasional organic teething biscuit, which he loves!

Generally speaking though, when do you get to start more fun things, like cheerios?

I gave them to Audree at 8 months.
Before that I tried the same type of thing, they are in the baby alise & they will melt in the baby's mouth . . I don't know what they are called.

Around 7 months I intro'ed Teddy Puffs (an organic version of gerber puffs). That was fun enough - I dont think we will do cherios. I also give her mum mums and just recently started with small pieces of fruit/veggies as finger foods.

i didnt give my son cheerios for a while because he didnt get teeth until he was ten months but when i noticed at around eight and a half that he sucks and bites down well and swallows finger foods easily then i did cheerios... it takes longer for cheerios to disolve so i was worried... puffs i started at six months or so

I gave Jake Gerber puffs at 6 months and after a week of trying them out, he choked once and I threw them out. We started again at 8 months but with Cheerios. He LOVES them!!

Ohh I'll look into those puffs.
I think I've seen them at Mother's Market - I just haven't been in a while!
He only has two teeth but he bites down with his gums pretty well (he can make my eyes water haha) so yes, we'll try those and see how he does =)
he likes teething biscuits but he gets mad after a few minutes because he can't actually "eat" it.

We have found that the organic teddy ones are easier for her to self feed... they are a bit bigger and dont dissolve AS quick so they dont stick to her hands. The organic teddy puffs tast pretty good (I tend to munch on them too) and she has never choked on them.

Gage has cheerios almost everyday and has since he was 6 months old, at first i cut them into pieces and now he gets them whole. He also loves puffs! He won't eat baby food at all! I have a grocery bag full of baby food!!!

I started puffs around 7-8 months, then I moved on to cheerios around 9 1/2 months. Now he also gets goldfish and granola bars (torn into small pieces).

I never thought to offer cherioos until 11 months.. No clue why..

She has been eating Rice Rusks since 6 months old..and around 7 months I think we started buying Biter Bisquits.. and 8 months we started buying other gerber graduate snacks.

At 9 months when she developed the pincer grasp the gerber graduate snacks were FUN for her cause she would pick them all up.

J had the gerber/parents choice puffs at 6 months... and at 8 months, she got the cheerios. She wasn't quite ready before then. I'd try them and she had a bit of difficulty. I guess.... just try giving him a half of one and see.
