Is it healthy?

I think Im, catching a cold and my baby is due in 2 weeks, is it healthy for pregnant women to have a cold when pregnant?? Could it harm the baby?

Any illness during pregnancy is never healthy for you or your baby...I thought you were going to ask about food...

If its just cold, all you can do is rest and try not to take meds unless its bacterial (there are antibiotics out there that are safe to take while pregnant).

i had a really bad cold when i went into labor ...and my son was fine

I took the Tylenol Cold & Flu, my doctor said it was ok and it helped me sleep when I would have not been able to otherwise... I had 2 colds during my pregnancy and it made me tired and weak. Even if you don't feel like eating is when you should be eating more. I lived by the Healthy Choice microwave chicken noodle soup.

i had a respritory flu while i was pregnant...Just let your doctor know..and they'll give you an idea of what to do..

It's never good to get sick while you're preggie, try to take some not so strong meds like Tylenol. Avoid meds like nyquil . Get a lot of rest, push clear fluids like water, certain juices, gatorade and broth. Ramen is good for you since it's a clear broth and the sodium helps keep you hydrated.

I just hope I can get rid of it before my baby comes, I know it's coming, I can feel it. lol

I had strep throat when I delivered but they knew it and gave me anti. before I had my c-section and after.

The cough may not go away for awhile after though. I hope you don't have to have a c-section because that will not feel good on healing.

I hope so too, but they only do those here if they're absolutely neccesarry so I should be good!!
How long does it take for a cough to heal anyway??

It took me several weeks for it to go away after both times, it was really annoying

aghh that's really bad news!!
I hope I can make it goaway before my baby comes!
I'm definately going to mention it at my appt. tomorrow.

I don't understand why people tell pregnant woman ridiculous stuff like that. Especially sick pregnant women. I've never heard of anything how a cold could ever do something like that. It doesn't even make sense unless you take some kind of horrible toxic remedy.

Talk to your doctor tomorrow for the peace of mind and what you can take to make yourself more comfortable.
