Once you start timing the contractions you will know. I know I had them for several days and knew it wasn't real cause they were so inconsistent. You will know.

I didn't think I was in labor when I was. I just thought I was having BH. My fiance told me that I needed to go to L&D and get checked out just in case... and I was. My water never broke either.

Not everybodies hurts!!! Ive been having "real contractions" on and off for a couple of weeks now and they just feel like my BH ones but with pressure in my Vag...

But with my Daughter... I had such bad back labor...that I couldnt feel my contractions either. My back just hurt really bad.

IF your water breaks though you should know...mine was a gush and it definatley was the wrong hole to be pee.

Don't always expect your water to break ladies. I was in labor for 22 hours before the doctor came into break my water (after 7 hours @ the hospital) My contractions started @ 9/a on a Saturday morning, by midnight, they were about 7 minutes apart, & I didn't have my daughter until 7/p on Sunday (12 hours after my water was broke) Every pregnancy is different, just like every labor is different. Natural labor starts out as little cramps, getting more aggressive as time goes on. The other ladies were right about 1 thing~ you will know, also keep an eye out for the mucas plug, that's a good tell tale sign

I didnt see my mucus plug with either pregnancy... And I know its gone this time cause my Dr said so. So that isnt even a for sure thing with everyone.

I didn't see mine either~ actually my husband did   But you do lose your mucas plug ~ whether you see it or not, which was why I said to keep an eye out for it.

That being said~ you can lose your mucas plug long before you go into labor, but it is a good indicator that labor is on it's way
