My great-grandfather was abandoned like that at a train station when he was 7. I've thought about that story many times over the years and just couldn't imagine what it would be like to realize that your parents weren't coming back ever. It breaks my heart to see it still happening even now. I hope that he is placed quickly with a loving family.

I wonder if the safe baby place law is in place for mothers that abandon their toddlers?

Surely... remember when China made the "drop box" for newborns and someone left their 2 year old in there.

couple of months ago an 8 month old was found abandoned in a stairwell
the parents of the girl were later found, and charged with numerous charges
